  do you ever get used to bumping into witnesses that you know.. i still go out in with the thought of it tin the back of my mind.

  i hate the death stares i get.

  i feel like walking uo to them and saying "i'm not the devil or a murderer, just no longer a witness".

  On the fading of 1914 ............

  forgetful as i am, i just forgot the title of the new brochure issued at this summer's conventions, but it is something like "keep on the watch", and it deals with the imminent return of christ, the signs of our times, and the need for being on the watch, being prepared for the "any day now" return.. the signs of our times are mentioned, but not earthquakes, so they are "out" again, it seems.

  but, the first pages make out the basis for the belief in our days being the last ones, the final ones, and 607 is mentioned, 539 and 537 - but not 1914, not the "seven times" or "2520 years".. do you remember 1995, when the "generation change" came?

  in summer, the "knowledge" book was issued, and it also dealt with the signs etc., but for the first time, there was no mention of the then "present truth" that some alive in 1914 would still be alive and witness the return.

  Can't you just imagine the day they will write "Many of Jehovah's people eagarly held as truth that the actual generation of 1914 would not pass away before the end would come. However, the Faithful and Discreet Slave never prophesied in Jehovahs name....blah,blah,blah."

  i haven't been to a meeting in years, but i was recently told by a friend of mine that they have really been hammering the 'use of your valuable things in support of the kingdom' in many of the talks and thursday night parts.

  i know they used to mention it all the time, but he said it's gotten really bad lately.

  i told him that's because the membership in the western (translate that to "richer"...lol) countries has really fallen off and even become negative in many countries and that the 3rd world countries can't contribute enough to support the great publishing empire.

  But he does....in the form of 6 million loyal members who happily donate (what should be their retirement plans) to the WTBTS.

  Lets see....would I rather die now of blood loss related to this horrible car accident or.....get a blood transfusion, live and have a tiny possibility of having a disease? Hmmmmm Let me think on that.....hmmmmm

  Predictions and Prophecy - Your turn baby!

  we all know the organization hasn't been shy about making predictions for what could happen in the future as far as the world and world conditions go.. now its your turn to state where the organization will be in 2 years, 5 years and 10 years.

  what will "conditions" be like?

  I think they will come up with another date for BigA. They have ALWAYS had a date. How else will they get an increase in membership and an increase in SALES. People will get bored without it.

  a non-jw family member sent me an email asking these questions:1. what is the position of the jehovah witness belief regarding gays?

  if you associate with one, will you be disfellowshipped?2.

  when you go to church, do you call it a meeting at the hall or the kingdom hall?3.

  Oh - wait - that wasn't your question. Jehovah hates the sin - not the sinner. As my dear mom said - Just because diabetics have a genetic flaw doesn't mean they can eat all the sugar they want.
