I know some teenagers who are hoping the law won't change so they won't have to go in fs. haha
I think I would have rather gone to jail than go in fs.
i am not too sure if anybody already mentioned this: .
over 300,000 russians sign petition to president putin.
protesting moscow ban on jehovah's witnesses .

i was wondering a few things.
i am trying to avoid the complexe question fallacy so excuse me if this is worded strangely instead of just saying "do jws believe all wordly people die at armageddon?"..
1) did the watchtower change its teaching on the great tribulation and armageddon enought for you to call it a major change?.
The flaw in your dear mom's argument, Dire, is that JWs would save more lives by NOT preaching to anyone, since these latter can then truthfully claim to never have been given the chance to ``learn the truth."
THat's SUCH a good point!! Those lucky bastards in 3rd world countries!!
ooh!
i am so mad, i don't even know if i am posting under the right subject!.
my parents (still thick as thieves with the jw's--dad's an elder) were asked to move to myrtle point, or last year because their congregation was not doing so well and they needed some help.
Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear BETHANY!! Happy birthday to you!!
I would say - No bailouts for an addict. JW's are religion addicts. If you bail them out you will only enable them. On the other hand, it would also be a good "witness" to them to receive unasked-for help from a non - JW. You're in a tough spot. I wonder if there is another way to help them that doesn't involve them being rescued from the consequences of their choices.
does anyone happen to have a copy of the july 8, 2004 awake?
i heard there is information in their regarding changed views on celebrations.
i would really like to read that article.
Finally, Christians have a special meeting on the anniversary of Jesus? death. Of course, this is done out of obedience to a clear command found in God?s Word.?Luke 22:19, 20.
This is off topic - but -- If it's such a CLEAR command then why don't they do it the way Jesus CLEARLY commanded it??? TAke....eat....all of you....
It sounds like the article is saying - "celebrate wedding anniversays if you must-- but don't you dare have too much fun."
let me explain.
i have been inactive for about 3 years now, i just walked away.
i was quiet at first but as i began to find out more and more about the deceptions of the wt, i have been more and more vocal in my viewpoints to my parents and former jw friends.. this past month has been very busy for me.
Thisisme-- Welcome to JWD!
Do you even know the story behind the organization being part of the U.N.???
Let me ask you - if I joined the YMCA - would any elder care to hear my reasons for joining? No - I would be DF'ed pretty quickly. And if they had such a good reason - then why did they drop their membership like a hot potato as soon as the Guardian article ran? Its hypocricy from any angle you look at it except from a brainwashed angle.
I think it's wrong to say "half witted knowledge" and I think every JW should be confronted with the facts of the organization they devote their lives to and destroy their families for.
I sincerely hope you keep doing your homework. Please keep reading this forum -- there's lots of good links so you can check out our half witted information for yourself.
here's a thread for all of you to thank those who helped you make your way out of the org.
i'll start.. i'd like to thank my ex-fiance for the support that she had given me when i needed it the most.
when i was faced with the elders coming to give me a shepharding call, she had given me the encouragement to stand up to them, and tell them truly how i felt.
THanks to Ray Franz for his beautiful, tactful, well researched expose on WTBTS!
Thanks also to JWD!!!!
the society has many doctrines and practices which are plainly wrong.
nonetheless, little dogma is, from an organizational standpoint, in serious need of change -- except one.
for the society to continue any form of credibility with it's followers it will have to change it's understanding of who can lead the organization, in other words, who can become members of the governing body.
Tim Horton - Welcome! I noticed this is your first post and wanted to say hello.
as a newbie still finding the cultish aspects of my previous belief system more unnerving all the time
This is good news for you - it means you are getting well! I know what you mean about the 1995 change. I find it so apalling that this HUGE change wasn't more unnerving for the masses of JW's. My mom went to Ecuador to do missionary work in 1996 - it didn't even phase her. I'm glad you saw it for what it is - False Prophesy!
As far as the GB-- Yes it will have to change but I think we have plenty of evidence that tells us that whatever cockamamie story they feed the R&F-- it will be happily gobbled up - no questions asked.
i love weddings cause, "love is in the air", and you can ask any woman to dance and not get shut down.
when i went to vegas and we hit all the night clubs you could see all the couples sitting there around the dance floor, the women bobbing up and down off their seats and their guys sunk down with their butts glued to the chair.
even though i am not the best dancer, being one of those men willing to "shake that thing" i had a great time.
I love to C/W dance. I only learned about 2 years ago and used to go for lessons every tuesday. Now I work too much but still go on Saturday nite whenever I can.
i was just thinking it would be fun to find out what the new tract says so that we could be prepared with a few pointed "questions" when they wake us up saturday morning.
i know i could have some generic questions ready for them - but it would be extra fun to be a step ahead of the door-knockers in october.

i recently discovered that one of the few websites with the "pay attention" book has recently undergone some changes.
the site is: http://watchtower.coms.nu/ and has had the "pay attention" (secret elders manul) for a year or more, that i am aware of.
i just noticed they now also have the pdf version, and the scan looks amazing!
Quotes - Please do not go under a rock!! We need you!!!
I love your idea. I believe secrets help keep the Borg members sick and that everyone should have access to ALL information.
I'll try to do it Monday on my work computer (it's a better computer - faster)
Thanks for your hard work!
