in asking the question "how does god protect us?

What are you doing with your Sundays?

i was inspired by our trip to the dallas apostachilifest, where princess and i met lots of terrific people in various stages of exit from the j-ho's.

Like others have said, I used to HATE Sundays - trying to find a lame excuse for not being able to go to the meeting, Detesting afternoon ministry (most people were having their dinners and were angry at being disturbed - what was the point!!!). The only good thing about Sundays then were the congregation football matches, or Ice skating.
Sundays are just great these days. Either a trip to the market for a saunter round, or a ride out into the Derbyshire Dales on my motorbike, usually accompanied by a barbeque in one of the many 'beauty spots'. Get up when I feel like and generally enjoy the day!

My mums first line of defense was 'Naughty Children Don't get into the New System. The Ravens of the torrent valleys will pick their eyes out.'
If that didn't work (usually the case) she'd say - I'll get the wooden spoon!! (how she ever used it to cook after beating my ass with it I'll never know. Just don't go around for dinner!) I hold her entirely responsible for me learning to enjoy that 'just been spanked' tingly feeling!
She couldn't use the 'wait till your father gets home' line cos he only ever hit me once in anger, (punched me in the face), so I hit him back and broke his nose!! He would only ever roll his eyes and leave mum to deal with me from then on!
The thing that always worked best on me was threatening to take away my bicycle. I went Everywhere on it, and it was like losing my legs when I couldn't use it!!
As regards the 'Teenage Boy' difficulties... I got the biblical counsel 'self abuse is a sin', the bizarre 'masturbation stunts the growth / gives you warts', the age old 'You'll go blind' and the impossible 'It'll drop off y'know!'

hey east midlanders...i've a definate for the weekend 19th/20th june, short notice i know but i'm back from germany for the weekend, suggest an afternoon in nottingham?...yates winebar perhaps, matters not to me?....pleasuredome/chok let me know in pm and anyone else who is passing through, i can wrap up details and post on saturday...................on another note, looks like i'm going to my first apostafest in germany at the end of the month..... .
