  My job has been affected by this overseas outsourcing to India - I was made redundant in November of last year, along with 44 other workers. Becuase of the very poor IT industry (if you can call it that) in this country, I had to take a £20,000 a year pay drop just to get back into gainful employment.

  I've worked along side some of these 'experts' from India, and whilst on paper their credentials are excellent... you put them in front of a PC and they are pants. They have no experience - as one of them said to me "well, I've seen someone do it, so I should be able to!". Certifications mean squat if you don't have the experience to back it up.

  Another thing they didn't take into consideration was the work ethic in India - over here, you get a major fault 5 minutes before finishing time, you stay till it's fixed. Whilst we were handing over to the new employees, a site link failed between UK and Paris with only 10 minutes left of the shift. The operative in India that was attempting to solve the problem just downed tools and said "my shift has finished. Goodbye" and went!!!

  If my memory serves me correctly... I recall it being in the news last year how India and Pakistan were on the verge of war, and how the rest of the nations were watching anxiously as they are both nuclear powers... well, guess where they decided to site the building for the Indian employees ??? You guessed it.. on the India / Pakistan border!! It beggars belief really!!!

  Fortunately, the new company that I work for handles governmental contracts. I can't see the British Government handing their programming or support over to Russia, India or China!! So my job may be safe in the short term at least.....

  were it not for the witness view of marriage as an eternal bond how many witness couples would have gone their separate ways?

  based on what i've personally seen i would say at least 75%.

  My sister is still in - just - and she only really attends for the social aspects... and her closest friend only attends cos she's been threatened with 'disinheritance' if she leaves!! Free will ???? Yeah Right!!!

  How weird jehovah's witness is-this is a true story

  one of my friend married a so-called jehovah's witness, as what i recall that jehovah witness does not believe divorce, but this jehovah witness divorce the wife with a daughter and complain that his wife has mental problem, on his second marriage, he worked away the wife without saying anything, just disappeared and weeks later want to go back to the wife, he never respect parents, relatives and wives, force wife has s*e*x and sleep outside too, at the meantime, he is still online searching girls and tell them he is divorced and ready for another one, but he did not divorce on his second one yet.

  this is the real jehovah witness, they are evil but wear angle dress.

  in the interest of full discloser, well as much as anyone would on a public forum, i?ll tell you about me.

  i was raised as a witness, and have no real horror stories to tell.

  Hi frobisher, welcome to the board...

  In my opinion... I don't think you can make sweeping generalisations about the people on here like 'united by hatred'.... whilst there is definitely an element of hatred on this site, if you look into the backgrounds (of the people that have shared them) of those that are openly critical of the WTBTS, you would understand their positions more. Hatred works for some, as it's a means to channel energy - for me... I'm not wasting any more of my life devoting time for anything to with the organisation, serving or hating!

  There is also a hell of a lot of healing on this site - having 'down' days or sharing sob stories doesn't mean you are making yourself a victim or whining!! Knowing that there are people who understand and empathise with you is a big help. And as you know, no-one here is afraid of letting you know what they think, so it can be a real kick up the virtual butt when needed!

  Is it wrong for the hated apostates to hate the organisation ??? How much time is devoted by the organsiation to 'hating' the apostates, making mention of them in books, magazines, leaflets, at meetings, at assemblies ? Aren't they surely in the same league of 'united by hatred'??

  i haven't been to the hall in quite some time even though all my family are still in and i see some of the witnesses from time to time.

  i am not disfellowshipped and don't intend to be as i don't see why they should have the right to stop me talking to my folks.

  however one of my friends has just had the big d and is now regretting it.

  Hi brutusmaximus,

  I feel for your friend - I was in the same situation 12 years ago - brought up a witness with only 2 outside friends, then DF'd and on my own. From my experience, my advice to your friend would be to not waste time trying to regain false friendships. Get out there, make new friends with people who accept him for who he is, not what cult he belongs to.

  As regards his family, they are still able to associate with him, but it will depend upon how 'level headed' they are... my friends folks are zealots and would have nothing to do with him, so as not to 'stumble' any other witnesses. What a crock of (bull)sh*t

  Life just gets wierder

  my daughter called me today and said "mom....i went to the watchtower.org website and clicked on 'i wanna start a bible study'.

  shortly thereafter, sister sweetiepie calls on my daughter and sets up a weekly study and leaves her with wt mags.. not even an hour has passed and my daughter is shopping and another sister, "sister blabbermouth" spots her and says, "i heard the good news" gives her more magazines (she's just found a place to dump more mags) and then asks her, "why didnt you ask your mom for a study?

  Gotta say I don't envy you at the minute CLV... sounds like a nightmare scenario.

  I wonder if most ex-dubs have ever contemplated going back at some point... I did, but fortunately got more than I bargained for when I asked LittleToe if he could conduct a bible study with me over the net!! LOL!! (This was before I knew he was engineering his own escape!)

  I hope you can feed her enough information to let her make an 'educated' decision.....!!
