Translating JWFacts to Spanish... Update?
by ILoveTTATT inas you all may know, it is an ongoing project to translate jwfacts to spanish.
given that there are more than 2 spanish-speaking jw's for every one that speaks english, it can be safely said that spanish is the #1 language in the jw world (even though everything is made originally in english).. the spanish-speaking jw's are harder to convince.
i attribute it almost 100% to socioeconomic factors.

Sad news from the Spanish Front
by Hecce ini think the majority of forum friends are aware of the existence of a vibrant watchtower opposition in the spanish field.
for about 13 years the extj forum was probably the main instrument for that endeavor, sadly the couple sponsoring that site decided to close it at the end of last year.
it seems like they were overwhelmed with personal obligations and responsibilities; they were covering a 100% of the expenses without any outside cooperation or publicity.. after the closing of their forum, some of the friends started new sites to keep the flow of information alive.

Your comments are valid. This is why, if necessary, I change the articles a bit to reflect the situation in the hispanic world, and/or I explain in a lot more detail what is going on.

Hi,
I've been highly involved in the Spanish exJW community for some time, and we absolutely need a forum!!
The closest thing to a forum right now is the groups on Facebook.
In terms of QUALITY websites, the absolute best imho is jwfacts.Therefore, jwfacts IS being translated into Spanish.

The goal is to finish translating it (there are over 100 articles about 20 pages long each) by 2019.
I am on track, as I am translating an article per week, and have been on track for the past 4 weeks. -

the theme for the 2017 regional convention is: "don’t give up!” .

Watchtower No.3 2017 - The Four Horesmen
by pale.emperor inthis is the first time i've read through a watchtower magazine in about a year.
although i've been our only 8 months it really git me how crazy i must have sounded when i was a jw talking to non jws.. while other bible based religions talk about the 4 horsemen and back up their theories with other scriptures or historical evidence, the watchtower have taken so such steps.
1914 is thrown in there as if it's universally agreed that jesus started ruling since then.. even when i was a jw i never really understood why, if the pale horse represents jesus, why is he first?

What about just a straight up membership count Simon. Would that number be something you have quick access to and/or are willing to share?
I second this. Or perhaps you can make a threshold? i.e. Number of members who posted/commented at least X amount of times per year? If not... just simply how many have signed up as a function of time.
I know the vast majority of those would be inactive, but it'd be nice to know just how many have signed up here throughout the years. -

That group does not allow force-add. Everyone in there has joined directly. Like I said, it took them 4 years to reach their 1st thousand, 3 years to reach the second, and in just 3 years they've gone from 2 to 9 thousand members!!I believe on facebook you used to be able to 'force add' friends to a group without them knowing, but that's a different story....

I.e. How many users are there? How many posts have ever been made?
Perhaps a graph showing how many users there were at a given time? That would be nice.
The reason I ask is because there is a group on Facebook called exJW Recovery Group 3 which just reached 9 thousand members.
They started in 2006 and it took them until 2010 to reach 1000 members, until 2013 to reach 2000, and in 2014 they exploded in numbers.
Wondering if there is something like that for this site. It would be very revealing.
