  Come on people use your noggins, it's possible because they don't subtract they just add!

  What is 4.5 percent of 10 million damn near half a million people? At that rate they would add 2 million (give or take) every dacade. DO they? Fuck no, they are full of crap.

  In fact they didn't even come CLOSE it's fudgy math! They aren't subtracting the people who LEAVE! It took them what 18 years to go from 7 million to 8? Why is that? Because when you figure in retention over time they actually grow by an average of somewhere from 80-90k a year. Still to much but a long LONG damn site away from a half a million new members a year, jeez...

  And I think even that is lies, hell I think they are STILL counting my time and I've been a hardcore atheist/apostate for the last 5 years. Ridiculous all around.

  my name's paul and i'm carrying out important work to show and share with the world the location of real garden of eden and central site of the agricultural (neolithic) revolution.

  this location of the site was comprehensively mapped out by christian o'brien in his 1985 book, "the genius of the few" where he identified it through descriptions given in the earliest nippur tablets (the barton cylinder, etc), atrahasis and the book of enoch, along with other mentions in the bible, the book of jubilees, the koran etc.

  Oh for $#% sake... REALLY? And how would you know if you were standing RIGHT in the old garden? There was no structure's built nothing to differentiate and then the flood came right so when the waters went down the rivers and mountains were moved and WTF makes you think 'Noah' even landed on the same continent!? He may have started in Brazil right!? If there as a global flood hundreds of feet deep (or thousands) how would a stone age ding dong even know if he was in the same place?

  was watching abc world news and they showed the religions/denominations with most increase and those that are experiencing decreases.. the j.w.

  's was number 1 on increase while most of the larger main stream churches where losing members.. they have already posted a link on the news website...will post it in just a few..

  Puke a tronic... And it's bullshit too, if it was true then since the 80's they would have 30-50 million members.

  This is like me saying my paycheck is 2400 every two weeks therefore I have over 50,000 in my bank account... Not deducting the money I spent is no different than them not taking off the members that leave, it's nonsense.

  Their actual long term growth is around 50k a year.

  according to the latest statistics published by the ncc in its yearbook of american and canadian churches, the jehovah's witnesess had the highest growth rate, in 2010 growing 4.37%.

  this is, i believe, is the 4th year in a row, that the witnesses had the highest growth rate.

  roman catholics grew by less than 1%, as did most of the other churches listed.

  No they don't, it's a ridiculous statement, they only count members coming in they don't subtract members going out, so if 1,000,000 people get dipped and or have babies that get dipped and 950,000 leave the REAL growth is not a million it's 50k that's why the witnoids have been at 7-8 million total members since the early 80's. If this was even HALF right they would be at 50 or 60 million by now. I would postulate that a 'real' growth of 50k a year is about right in total.

  The rise of religion was because of ignorance and fear. Read the 4 ages of sand by douglas adams. As to why it stuck around, it continues to prey on that same ignroance and fear. Also it allows evil men to do evil things. Why do you think that the republican party embraces fear and ignorance? Those traits allow them to do whatever they want!

  Any talisman that allows those who posses it to rape, kill, steal and destory will survive in some form.

  the other day i was doing some research about "1914" for a friend on my wt cd library (spanish) and i found it quite interesting that the number of times "1914" is mentioned in the watchtower magazine during the previous 3 decades has been dropping exponentially as follows.... 1980-1989: mentioned 854 times.

  1990-1999: mentioned 492 times.

  2000-2009: mentioned 222 times.
