i remember back 8 years ago when i left the organization the elders were being called "jehovah's special appointed ones".

i thought to myself that this was starting to become a clergy class.

i mean if that doesn't set you about the rest of the flock, i don't know what does.

As to having a great standard of living... I dont think so... I've known too many CO's and DO's! The CO that I was really close too (he gave my wedding talk!) had sold a very profitable business so he could go into the "work" his lifestyle dropped dramaticly when he went into the work full time! Compare how the CO's do to the church leaders in mainstream churches... It don't compare! This guy could give talks too! People would come from MILES around to hear him speak the man has a gift! So don't say they all do so well cause some really do this CRAP out of love... misguided love but love none the less!

All that aside they are a PAID clergy the amount they are PAID is inconsequential the reality is they are paid...

Just read a case about this will have to see if I can find it... Father had paid support for 12 years or something like that got DNA test wasnt' the dad... Was allowed to stop paying support even though his name was on the BC was some sort of landmark case... I know thats not what you want to do (get out of support and daddy role) but it's an option I guess

If it was me I wouldnt' want to know... If one of my girls wasn't mine I would rather just raise her thinking she is if one day I found out different it wouldn't change a thing but I would not SEEK to find out...

I think frenchbaby is on to it! This was a good reason to make your wife wear a veil! Cause she was responsible for the fall of the angels! Not only had those F*cking women gotten us INNOCENT men kicked out of the garden of eden but these no good trolips had even suduced the sons of god! Women can't be trusted!

I think you pretty much covered it... There was another thread not to long ago about the "front of the hall clique" I think thats evidence as well they have special seats not just for the clergy but for the family of the clergy as well... Pretty f*cked up!

this is for those of you who sent me a private message saying you dont believe me, your letting your old jw traits come out, you know, not believing things when the facts stare you in the face unless it comes from the org.

maybee you should go back and re join them.. to confirm what happened .

i was at a john denver concert in the uk many years ago, he asked all catholics to stand up, after he got them seated he did the same with church of england, then the same with a couple of other religions, after he asked all jw's to stand up he announced that the concert would not go on untill they had all left and he then left the stage.

Did you guys see the south park were kenny wanted to get his mom to have a miscarrage so he took her to the fair to ride the "John Denver experience?" It was a ride like the pirate ship ride at the fair only it was an airplane it started with one of his rocky mountain high type songs then the plane started crashing into stuff flipped over and landed upside down in the water I laughed my ass off,,,

Not that I don't like John Denver but it was hilarious!

Stumbled Across the Forum

i stumbled across this forum today as i was looking for information online as it relates to johnny carson and the whole john denver thing that was spread around years ago.

it's no surprise that i cant find a single thing on it on the web as i always thought it was an urban legend.

just angers me that things like that spread around and so many people just accept it as truth because a brother or sister told it to them.

Here's my two cents Unc... You need to READ and I mean read a LOT! There's more twist to this plot than you may think!

As to "breaking down" while telling your life story thats ok this is after all group therapy of a sort! Here's my other penny though! Don't tell your story yet! Your still to close to the story... You've been out four years but in your mind YOUR STILL IN! How can I say that better hmmmmm.

Ok if your on a airplane and your getting ready to take off (big ass plane not a piper!) You can't see the runway, your too close! Just like you and your life story! Then the plane takes off and starts getting some altitude you can see everything! Not just the runway but the hangers and parking garages and highways and your house! You see what I'm getting at? Reading is the engine that propels this airplane and the more you read the more you can see and this includes your own story! The WBTS has convinced you that their is nothing to see so their isn't any point taking off much less looking out the window! There is a whole big world out there though! Once you get a few thousand feet of difference you will be able to SEE your story and then you'll tell it so much better! When your ready we (your fellow passengers and crew) will be here and we'll be ready! So sit down and get comfy! The captain has turned off the no smoking sign (though it's still not a good idea!) Let Valis bring you a pillow and Blondie some peanuts and enjoy the trip!

well my sister and her husband are now working towards figuring out the custody issues and divorce.

both being very civil about it.

my sister will most likely be disfellowshipped as she is with another man (a very nice british guy, actually).. .

I had a friend get df'ed recently and was going back and I told them that while they were out they should examine to see if they really wanted to get back in... I think she's started doing just that I'll be sending her to this board soon maybe that would work with sister?

The Two Babylons was a rather crazy book, with many parallels to the Watchtower beliefs. I began to wonder if Watchtower beliefs were just as crazy and began to examine them from a different perspective.

HA! Same with me! Different book but the same idea with me it was "The Salmon of Doubt" by the late great Douglas Adams one of the best books in the last 2.4 million years! The essay about the cult that believes that the rings of Saturn are in fact a 8,000 mile long salmon biting it's own tail was a real eye opener I realized that they used the same logic to support the giant fish theory that the WBTS uses for many of their arguments that was the begining of the end for me!
