how has the internet changed your life?.
ok, i guess if you left the org because of the internet, that is quite a big change.. but what about all the other changes, as to shopping, banking and so on.. what about the fact, you now have not just a photo album, but copies of all your friends photographs as well.. not to mention web cams, which i'm thinking of setting up.. isn't it a revolution in it's own right?, or would you describe it as just a part of the information revolution.
or the pinacle of the information revoltuion?
The information on the internet has opened my eyes to the real "truth" that the "troof" is wrong.
Being able to buy whatever I want or need without leaving the house.

although i'm too young to remember tommy james and the shondells...i've heard "crystal blue persuasion" many times.
i also heard rumors from witnesses that tommy wrote this song about the "truth" book.
i can't seem to find any information online connecting this song to jws.

Tommy James first made the "big time" in the Pittsburgh area..........................he was from eastern Ohio.........and two guys in the band were from this area. It has happened twice already. I have gone to visit someone and in a few days when I get home............and try to sign back on...........I have to re-regester so to speak. It is kind of aggravating.........but if it is part of security measures............then ok...........I'll live with it!
Anyhow.................I had another wonderful visit with a lovely lady from this board. ............hope she feels the same way.
So............since I can log on again..............I will try to catch up in the lives of my fellow xjw's.

Every laundromat in the surrounding Pittsburgh area gets it's share of magazines any day of the week. I know a "bro" who regularly drove is aux. pioneer wife and daugher around for hours to leave the mags there. Most of the laundromats were actually out of the congo. territory. AND...........the majority of the time ........he had shorts and t-shirt and sandals on............He counted the time by just driving them.
Remember folks.......there were two WT articles over the past 15 years that said that our personal salvation was directy linked to the extent of our preaching work. Can you believe that? It was shortly after the change in "this gereration". What BS!
I wish I could remember the date and year of those WT articles. The last one was in the late '90's.
But you know what? At one time I was an idiot too! In 1989 when I started going to AA meetings at a large hospital here (while I was still an elder and drank to excess because I was an unhappy elder) I would leave some of the old hardback books in one of the lobby's or waiting rooms just so I could "count" the placement.
Sure glad I have a sound and sober mind today. I don't have the need or desire to drink to excess anymore. 99% of my problems are gone. The other 1% is so trivial that I never remember what it/they is/are.

Every time I turn around there is something new to me that makes me all the happier that I am no longer a part of the borg.
I thank you guys who have more intellect and smarts than I do for the research that you do.

i found it the most upbuilding, faith-strengthening book i have ever read.
particularly coming from the judgmental wt system, it was like a comforting refreshing stream in which to bathe.
i know that many on this board no longer believe in god or the bible.
Read the book about a year ago and it was wonderful. What I learned in the short time it took to read it taught me more about forgiving than I learned in over 30 years as a JW.
There is no doubt that many on this board have had their entire belief system shattered by the mind numbing manipulation of the WT but this guy still believes (and more so now) in the life changing love of Jesus Christ.
Several years ago, I also read the other book by Yancey...."The Jesus I Never Knew" but found it a tough read.
