I know that all of us have many differing belief systems since leaving the dubs and I consider myself a Christian today who attends a church full of great people. I have even an anti witness to the membership and will continue to do so as the occasion arises.

Since I have caller ID and do not answer to any telemarketers or dubs (they don't call anyway), and there hasn't been one at my door for about a year and a half ( I don't answer the door either if I see its them), so I guess they will probably send me a letter which I will not accept or open if I see it is from them.

So then what do they do next? I do not nor will I consider myself a JW anymore. If they really want to get to me, then they will have to WORK very hard to come up with some counterespionage way of doing so. It may have to be a chance meeting at a grocery store or somewhere else.

Bottom line is.........if and when the time comes...........I will make the statement......."hey, my life is in the hands of the Allmighty, it's between me and him. I'm a slave of Jesus Christ just like John said he was in the first chapter of Revelation".

That would be the clincher since that would immediately tell the JW elder that I believe different than what the 'society' proclaims. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.......I wonder if they actually consider themselves a slave of anything?

Let's see who the first one here who gets a call or visit is.

i have been concerned since i read on a couple of posts about the pro-jw documentary which is in the works to be publicly aired on pbs.

i studied the website, and it looks extremely favorable to watchtower.

Could you or someone else come up with a written pettition or whatever that I and others could send to the local PBS station with our name or e-mail address?

I would be more than happy to send my two cents worth to WQED here in Pittsburgh.

yeah , my sister and i laughed and cried all day yesterday, because friday she is leaving my home and moving hundreds of miles away.. i am sure you have read wanderlust's love story thread, the love of his life he speaks of is my sister ginger.

she is three years younger than me but for most of my life i was more of a mother to her than our mother was.. it hurts to think that she physically will not be here.

but i am so glad that she has found love and happiness with donnie , again.

The KH and people in it make me so hateful

so the brother who was suppose to do sound had to read the watchtower that morning so i had to do it b/c no one else who knew how to showed up.

so there i was sitting through this boring talk that talked about entertaiment or something and i heard it all before so i started reading this watchtower that was laying on the sound system.

then brother elder walked by and told my dad i was sleeping, and another brother elder walked by and told my dad i was sleeping.

After reading your posts, all I can say is to hang in there for whatever time you have to. You are smart enough to know what you are going to do and how you are going to do it. Going to college is the best choice you can make.

Take it from a (getting older) ex elder who used to think the same way as the elders who are giving you problems. In their mind (as was in mine) they think they are fullfilling their duty to help you to your theocratic senses, but they don't realize (just like I didn't realize) that all they are doing to you and other young ones who are able to think for themselves is pushing them out of the organization. Then once you are gone, they can't even comprehend that it is THEY who were part of the driving force pushing you out.

Just like the brooklyn borg who blames everything on the rank and file, the elders and possibly even your JW parents will only salve their own consciences and blame YOU for leaving the "truth". They will never admit that they were the major problem.

I once had that elder mindset and wish now that I could appologize to any young person I might have snitched on. Young people have enough on their minds.....they don't need any BS from elders on top of things. I'm sure there are many who are now in their late 20's and early 30's from my old KH who are now out of the borg. I haven't been there for almost 10 years (I resigned as an elder and went to another KH and faded a few years later) and would love to run into someone from my past JW life on this board.

Keep hanging in there and make yourself happy. The others won't understand why you are happy.

hi i was wondering if anyone can answer this for me .i am not a jehovahs witness .

i have a friend who is a jehovahs witness , and claims that men and women cannot be friends .i am sure that jesus was friends with females , and i am also sure that some of the anointed had friends of the opposite sex .i just don't know how to go about to finding something in the bible to back up who is correct .thank you for any input .

You just brought back a memory from about 30 years ago. This older bro who was the backbone of the KH I started at was a great person, but he held to this reasoning too. He and his wife were regular pioneers for decades and if he had to pick up a sister without his wife, the sister had to sit in the back seat too.

Same went for field service. If there was a brother present, he sat in the front.......the sisters in the back.

A controlled zombie for 32 years

thats right a controlled zombie-how could i have so stupid?

how could i give up my father & mother-how could i give up all my friends?when i look in the mirror i see an old man that is no longer young--and they still are not out of my life--they still come by and leave magazines---i dont want to be mean--but they just dont get it--after reading about the 2 books by ray franz and reading diane wilson:s book---there probably is a few more bomb shell books that will come out--maybe we havent heard anything yet--who knows whats around the corner lol..you might be in for a shock-i heard that in the hall i used to go to no longer announces the attendance--could it be a trend that will go throughout the world?

i have even heard of kingdom halls beeing sold-also in their new book- they wont be having all these investigations of the flock--they will just announce from the plat form that john doe is no longer a jehovah witness---that is better--it saves a lot of stress and nonsense--maybe the jerks are doing something that makes sense for a change--that will break my heart to say i am no longer a jehovah witness----thanks hag

I am sure there will be a lot more scandals coming out in the future and what was already revealed is only the tip of the ice berg,

We can only hope! There was a thread about 2-3 weeks ago about a "very important brother" being asked to leave HQ. He worked in the computer dept. if I remember correctly. Haven't heard any more about it though.

I would imagine that there are more skeletons that will be revealed as time goes on. It was most interesting to me how the PO's son in my first congregation came back after two years at Bethel, left the JW's and moved far away from home. Rather than being an "upbuilding" experience for him, service at Bethel catapulted him straight out of the org.

About 12 years ago, a pioneer brother from my old KH went to WT farm. He didn't last a year! He got so disgusted with things there that he doesn't have anything to do with the religion anymore. His comment to a family member of mine was that the whole org. is a bunch of BS. He only lives about 6 miles from me and I'd love to run into him some day. Problem is.....his wife is a good little dub.
