  Gregor—A Poster You Should Get to Know

  i just had a very enjoyable, insightful conversation with gregor, "the kool-aid man".

  i learned some things and shared some things, and i think we are both the better for the conversation.. i think it would do everyone a lot of good to occasionally remember that on this forum, due to the limitations of the medium, we can really only see a weird sort of 2-dimensional person (sometimes only a 1-dimensional person) through the posts we read.

  i just wanted to let everyone know i am glad i am getting to know gregor.

  I have met three posters in person, and talked to two on the phone.

  Met gold_morning (who rarely posts these days). She is a wonderful, wonderful woman.

  Met ithinkisee and freedomlover. What a great young couple! I wish them the best on their new life.

  Talked to bikerchick and onacruise on the phone. I must say that I was awestruck with the depth of onacruise's thinking and reasoning ability. Now there is a guy I could listen to for a long time without falling asleep.

  No.....none of these people I met are nut cases.

  I would like to talk to more posters and also meet them one of these days. Gregor, Auld Soul, and MerryMagdalene are just three of them.

  meeting you through your post histories

  as i am relative newcomer to this forum, everyone here was a mystery to me.

  what i have been doing is going back through the post histories.

  wednesday, you are an interesting person.. cabin in the woods, you are about my age, where you live sounds beautiful, and i can sympathize with you about your children's views of their childhood.

  My daughter could not go to meetings.she wanted to die. We spent hours and hours talking to her, telling her she had worth in God's eyes, that Jesus died for everyone, that no one has the right to condemn another human, not elders, not anyone. She had nightmares that she was killing herself, because she thought they wanted her to die. She tried, for awhile, just to please her dad and me. But eventually, and this is the long story part of it, when we could see that the men who did this to her were not going to be held accountable for what they said to her, we all quit going. The pain of sitting there, listening to someone on the platform saying "Elders are like a hiding place from the wind" was too much.

  This is so much like my and my daughter's story! Glad you didn't let them get to you.

  I'm happy that my daughter and myself are both out. Life is good even with all the rough spots.

  I agree with all that has been said...............

  Wouldn't it be nice if some media investigative reporter got hold of this info and did a story on all the ones who are being put out to pasture?

  Even if the WTBTS gave them about $500 a month...........that is nothing in todays world to live on.

  i showed up here about a year and a half ago confused and in shock.

  i was yet the latest victim of the runaway train that is the wt.

  my wife joined the wt and i was surrounded by drones doing their level headed best to consume my family while i am at work paying for it all.

  it used to make the conventions almost bearable.

  i rememeber telling the wife and kids to not put anything in any contribution box, because as the head of the family, i had taken care of it.

  And you would not believe how wasteful I was. I remember one time I got 5 hoggies, and took one bite out of each. And one time I got a bag full of food and took it out to the homeless (aka bums) that were hanging around. Gee, I miss those days.

  Wow................you sure were something! I can see you laughing at the very thought of these escapades.

  It's one thing to hate what the WT does and did to it's members.......but no matter how much so-called knowledge one has these days..................the bottom line is...................some people have been and still are jerks.

  Back about 1986 or 87, one of my fellow elders.........a very old brother.....and a good one at that.......told the then PO (my age) who thought his "body excrement" didn't stink........." You're an idiot and you don't even HAVE a personality." It was only the three of us and the old elder had been complaining to me about this personality deficient elder. Once he showed up, the words were said.

  That was priceless because the only ones in the cong. who liked this PO were the ones kissing his arse in order to jockey for their own power position.

  Sad to say........this guy is still a PO, but in the sister cong. that meets in the same KH. (in a Pittsburgh, PA suburb)

  it must be happening or about to happen big time and soon.

  today, my financial statement came from my credit union and there was this note in it.

  Today, my financial statement came from my Credit Union and there was this note in it. I have typed it word for word and hope you can benefit from it.

  "Cell Phone Directory Going To Press"

  The International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators has issued an alert advising that a national directory of cell phone numbers is about to be published.

  This will give telemarketers access to your cell phone, which will be very disruptive to people using cell phones for business. It will also waste minutes on your calling plan.

  To get added to the National Do Not Call List, call 888-382-1222 from your cell phone. It blocks your number for five years.

  Me thinks he was not what he claimed he was. Was he one of those subhuman creatures who live under bridges in fairy tales? You know the word, but I don't want to be the one who says it.

  It would be nice if he really was what he claimed to be and followed up on it. Oh well!
