the singer, a devout jehovah's witness, "sent someone for a walk-through of the space," co-owner laurent bourgade tells us.
Van Morrison was never a JW. When he was young, I believe his mother was....or was just studying with JW's. Anyhow, the story is that Van went to the KH once or twice but never took an interest in it. I like his song though....."Everybodys Rockin At The Kingdom Hall.

i recently wrote an email to my pastor and let him know of my story and journey up until this point.. he thanked me for blessing him with my story and had stated that he was praying for me and my situation and my 3 children.
he was very encouraging, positive, and loving.
after getting his quick response, i received another email from him stating that he had just received an email from another ex jw and how similar her story was to mine.
Thanks for your story Ethan,
You said...............
I remember the hall saying yes they may be 'good people' but they DO NOT LOVE JEHOVAH. The people I am meeting are more religiously touched and have a REAL LOVE for others and God than ANY witness I ever met! I have been very impressed with those I meet at church. I look forward to being more like them and having them as my friends!
It sure beats having false 'friends' at the hall who abandon you when you need help the most after 30 years of close 'intimate' aquaintance! I find those at the hall as hypocritical and shallow and blind!
Boy, I could have said those exact same words. I'm happier now as a real Christian than I ever was for 30+ years as a JW. I'm also attending a great church. Who knows, one of these days an ex JW might attend there too.

do you ever recall when a magazine, book, pamphlet or tract made you start to question .
or doubt the written material?
Since the 1970's there have been things that made me think a little. I guess it was TOO LITTLE since it took almost another 30 years to get out.
The first things were the application of prophetic scriptures to just the JW's. These were many at the time! And all were in the books we studied back then. Books like God's Kingdom of a Thousand Years, Babylon The Great Has Fallen, etc. Most likely penned by fabulous Freddy!
One that really turned my stomach was in the 1980's. This was the first time I read in print in one of the Watchtower studies that our individual salvation was directly connected to the preaching work we would do. I never could accept this because the Bible puts even MORE emphasis on showing love, and taking care of widows and orphans. Something the JW's have never done. They do no charitable works at all! But boy did they want us "selling" all the literature they could produce.
This same theme of salvation being connected to our preaching surfaced again in the mid 1990's and got me angry again. Then shortly after this was the generation change. Then shortly after this my mind started fading and the internet helped it to fade more. It took my body a few more years to finally chuck it all.

i know a few here have and do so - i have listened to tons of the audio testimonials and have even had one poster here offer me a place to stay should i decide to go in october.
i just might go this time.. wnfj= witnesses now for jesus [ mostly former jw's and mormons] .

I don't want to wish the next 9 months away too fast but I'm looking forward to being there this year. Sure am glad I called early to book a room. Got it right there within walking distance. I understand that it is a good idea to bring all your own bedding such as sheets, blankets, etc.. There is also a special place for bird watchers to visit nearby. It's called Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary, I think. Just Google "Hawk Mountain PA". They say you can see just about every species of hawk in the U.S. They gather there during the fall migration. Should be interesting.
And I'm bringing my camera too!
If you don't want your picture taken, I will honor that request. Regardless, I wouldn't post them on the internet without your consent.
Can't wait to meet all of you who will be there.

I've been wanting to go to WNFJ for the past three years. But being the procrastinator that I am, the last minute would come and no rooms were available unless I wanted to pay over $100.00 a night at a motel that was 20 miles away.
Not this year! The week after WNFJ, I called Blue Mountain and got my room reserved for the 2007 WNFJ. I'm not missing it this year unless I kick the bucket or something.
I'll look forward to meeting some of my online friends who have been going there.

Lady Lee posted the correct information. Thanks LL.
The 1974 Cessna 402B, N710WS is still listed as owned by Tim Betz in Ankorage, Alaska and the Piper N254SW is still listed under Kingdom Support Services. And as was said......in many places in Alaska, the planes outnumber the cars and trucks. They are a necessity.
Here is a list of all planes listed under the word Kingdom. Speculate to your hearts content but I doubt any of them belong to the WT Society except for the one.
There are 5 record(s) matching name = 'kingdom'

Cuba will probably become the next big tourist destination for Americans. Especially the old car afficianados (collectors).
They will buy up every old 1940's and 1950's car they can find......paying the Cuban owners more money than they have made in their life.
Then you will see Cuban's by the masses driving Japanese and Korean imports.
