  going through some of my files... came across some photos of some artwork of mine... thought it might be fun to share with others here who are into art.

  All I can say is.............."I'm jealous."

  All of you have soooooo much talent. I can't even draw a good stick figure.

  I watch reruns of Bob Ross big brush "The Joy Of Painting" that I DVR a few times a week on PBS and for years I've told myself that I need to try to do this too. Oh well.......maybe one of these days!

  And to think.......as dubs.......we were encouraged to forego any talents and ambitions we had for the sake of disturbing the public preaching door to door. We would have eternity to do this in the new system.

  I learned the hard way. No matter how friendly and trustworthy a brother tried to come across, once you confided anything to him.......and if it even slightly seemed out of kilter to the dub way of thinking..........they took your confidential conversation to an elder.

  1984 and communism spying all rolled into one. Your friendship meant nothing if they could move up a rung on the BOE friendship ladder.

  My only real friends.......and I didn't realize it at the time.........were the non-JW guys I worked with.

  As I watch world events, I sometimes wonder if the JW's have some part of it right. Parts of prophesy that have been explained (their own twist on it that is) do seem viable at times. Although I've been involved in Christian churches for a number of years now, I don't believe the fundamental view 100% either. Many of them are just as whacked as the JW's. But I do feel the need to worship and I guess I need people also. Today, I have more friends (christian and non-christian, actually more non-christian) who accept me unconditionally as I do them, than I ever had as a JW.

  Personally, I don't think any one religion has it all right. Just look at how many belief changes (old light to new light to old life to.....you get my point) have happened with the WTBS. No, I don't think I could ever go back.

  i couldn't sleep last night.

  paranoia, sense of danger, nerves.

  wife got pissed, especially when she saw me sitting downstairs last night on the couch with the laptop and a shotgun (surfing the net, emailing and posting on jwd).

  Three cheers for the lady in Golden Gate Estates. I'm very familiar with the area since my daughter has lived in Fort Myers for the past 8 years and this month moved to Bonita Springs. She has been through a special hand gun protection course designed just for women and she will use her weapon if necessary. She was a statistic once and now refuses to be a victim again as long as she has breath. BTS.....good for you and the shotgun.

  I keep my S & W 380 right next to the recliner and the S & W 38 Special +p within reach of the bed.

  need help find a scripure about truth for wise...not just the foolish

  does anyone know of a scripture or scriptures that indicate that wise or perhaps smarter people can understand jesus teachings better than the simpleminded?.

  my dad e-mailed me a response recently using the scripture where jesus said things had "been hidden" from smart or educated people, but revealed them to stupid people or babies or whatever...............then i saw a post here in the last few weeks i meant to mark that said the exact opposite...........the the truth was for wise people or such..........

  A New Chapter Is opening up in my Life.

  Living in the Pittsburgh area, I am a Steelers fan of course. And I'm happy that they won. Other than the winning pass and catch by Ben and Santonio.........if the Steelers would have won any other way, it would not have been by their better playing but because of the Cardinals mistakes. The Cardinals played one hell of a game too!

  All of this gay stuff has been hashed over and over and over and over.

  Why.......all of a sudden.......is it one of the main topics again? Go back the past 24 hours of posts and see what Simon had to say about it.

  Are you/the gays trying to put forth an agenda on the new JWN?

  Has there been an influx about straight marriage? AKA.....man and woman? Are the straight people trying to push their man and woman agenda? I don't think so.

  Has Nicole Kidman ever spoken out about Scientology?

  i don't recall ever hearing her speak about her experiences with the church of scientology.

  i'm guessing she probably chooses not to since it may make relations with her ex tom cruise difficult.

  plus the scientologists seem to have the fear and control business off to a fine are.. has anyone ever read or heard anything from her?.

  It's never been proven but it has been spoken about. There are people who left Scientology and mysteriously died. A man I worked with in the 1970's had a brother who got involved with the cult in its early days and decided their practices were not for him. According to the guy I worked with, his brother said they were hounding him to come back. (remind you of what the JW's do?) He held his ground but not long after he was found dead of an apparent suicide. His brother said that nobody in the family believed it was suicide but what could they do. I have heard of similar cases. Fear and threats could keep Nicole from saying anything. HappyDad
