1. they done me wrong.
2. i'm depressed.
3. i'm gonna act like an apostate (smoke, drink, drugs, sex, outrageous behavior).
Number 4 "I found Jesus" and number 5 "what if they really have the truth" hounded me for years. Without appologizing I do believe in Jesus but will no longer argue the point with anyone who believes otherwise. And now I know that they (JW's) DO NOT HAVE THE TRUTH!
I keep my mind open to all explanations that my limited mind can take in today. Life is good!

there is something all too familiar about it, something that sickens the stomach and reminds us how low and prejudiced evil minds can go.. those who divide humans up in order to weaken and conquer them will stop at nothing if not counterfeit reasoning to justify their evil.. .
the arguments made in the past and the arguments made in the present have a familiar ring to them and the false clanger is a note of warning!.
"if you give women the right to vote, you're just doubling the vote of their husband.".
Very well said Terry! Thanks for all your posts. It has taken me years to finally break free from JW obnoxiousnous and just listen to what others have to say without my old "I'm better than you" attitude. My thinking has really changed now that I listen, read and think. I was physically free for years but now my mind is free too thanks to poster such as yourself.

when i left the jw organization, there were about 80 publishers in my congregation.
within the last month, the congregation was abolished because it only had 29 publishers in it.
the apparent reason for this was one elder on a power trip.
It's all about control!

recently, a public speaker brought up this point that i remembered being preached in the 70's.
when they bring this matter up, they always manage to give you an experience of how one person stood his ground, and got a great job offer, as a result.. what about the many experiences of ones that were not blessed?
i can memtion horror stories of ones that should have kept working their meetings..
I almost bought into this in the early 1970's. With a wife and young child and a mortgage, I was working three shifts for United States Steel. It would change week by week. Daylight, afternoon, then night shift! After hearing this spiel at a convention, I was sure I should find a steady daylight job so I would never have to miss meetings. The only job I was offered paid only about a third of what I was making.
It was always in the back of my mind though, that it was easy for these CO's and DO's to tell someone that they should change jobs when you didn't have to worry about anything. Today I am very happy that I stuck with the good job or I would never have a pension as I now do.
This cult doesn't give a damn about anyone's welfare

i'm sure i read a thread here about the new congregation accounting procedures.
i ask because i handle the accounts in our cong and in our part of the world the new accounting system has just arrived whereby local congs do not have their own account any longer, but all funds outside of basic monthly costs is forwarded to an account controlled by the org.
this is causing huge confusion in our cong as we have to work out how much we need to keep back for monthly costs and the new idea is that you send all your extra cash to the org and if you need it back you can ask for it but we don't know how easy or hard it would be to do that.
Watchtower Free,
Thanks for posting the pic. In the early 1950's the Howdy Doody show was very popular in the U.S. There was a character called Dilly Dally. The fourth guy from the left top row reminded me of him. Dilly always had a hat on but the resemblence is amazing. So I googled the Howdy Doody show with Dilly Dally. Made me laugh like crazy seeing the pic of Dilly.

it's been a long time since i posted here, but i lurk often, checking in on things in the jw world.
i have been out for 25 years, but have family still in.
none of them speak to me anymore, even though they used to quite often and quite regular, breaking all the shunning rules.
If all the conspiricy theorists and doomsday preppers are right, and that day comes. I will just bend over and try to kiss my ass goodbye! I don't have the money and resources to prepare a bunker or anything like it. After all, we're all dying someday. If you believe in a heavenly afterlife, more power to you, or if you believe in nothingness for eternity (aka....worm food), more power to you, what difference does it make afterall? Enjoy your life right now and show that the best revenge is living well and happy.

Prologos........
Since 2003 I have lived in SW Fla. off and on. Sometimes for a few weeks......sometimes for a few months. I know that summer there is brutal but I've done it before. I actually worked from June thru Sept. for a year or two. I got used to being soaking wet from sweat moving furniture with my daughters now ex. Check out my early posts from 2004 through 2006.
Now that I am older, I will just stay in air conditioned places. LOL. After all.....summers here in Western PA in Pittsburgh hit the high 80's and sometimes the low 90's with high humidity. So what do I do? I stay in the air conditioned places.
Take care,
