In the KH I attended, there was a whacko "brother" who said that all dogs are demonized.

Stupid WT Q's : Is It Wise or Safe to Keep a Dog? Demons—How Can We Resist Them?
by Sea Breeze inyes, that is an actual question in the awake magazine.
jw kids lives are already miserable enough trying to obey all the ignorant rules of the wt.. no sports, no school dance, no holidays.... just field service.
as if that isn't enough.... let's take away their puppy dogs too!.

Did becoming a JW influence you to give up something you enjoyed ?
by smiddy3 inwhen i was a teenager a younger fellow workmate was involved in the sport of judo.i got interested and went along to a number of sessions and took to it like a sponge to water ,and as a sport i was happy participating in.. not that much longer another workmate was getting re-activated in the religion of jw`s.
which i had never heard o before and then got interested in that .. conflict : was judo a sport that was compatible with j.w beliefs?
sadly i decided it was not and stopped any further involvement.. to this day i resent that decision i made back then .and i`m 82 years old now.. it was a sport i was comfortable doing and i enjoyed it.and i gave it up because of the religion .who knows what i may have achieved had i continued with it.

I was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Then I was brainwashed that hunting was bad and gave it up. Fishing was ok as long as you didn't waste the fish you caught.
I also limited my relationship with my own father who I hunted with because he was opposed to da truf. At least I rekindled that when he got older no matter what the JW idiots said.

10 years on and I’m still indoctrinated
by joe134cd inthis experience highlights the level of my indoctrination, after 10 years of been a pomo.
a few months back my gf was hinting to me about what we could do for my birthday.
to be honest i just had no idea, that i even had a birthday.

Same here Joe134cd,
Birthdays and other Holidays can come and go. They still don't mean much to me, but I abide by my daughter's wishes and buy presents and decorate with her.
I've been out 20 years and still find myself with some deep rooted, JW thinking that determines how I view situations or people. Will it ever be gone? Who knows? At least now, I'm able to recognize when this is happening, and I have to think hard before I open my mouth.

Vaccines - "Jehovah's" chariot does it again....
by neat blue dog injehovah's chariot, famous for being late to the game, copying other religion's chariots, or outright turning in the wrong direction does it again with vaccines.
immediately after the gb announced that masks are still required and that all hlc elders are required to be fully vaccinated, the cdc comes out with new covid guidelines:.
which "focuses on individual decisions" and "brings the recommendations for unvaccinated people in line with people who are fully vaccinated – an acknowledgment of the high levels of population immunity in the u.s., due to vaccination, past covid-19 infections or both.

Mikejw,
You've been here only 10 days and all you have done is promote your conspiracy agenda. You must have been a follower of Alex Jones and all the other conspiracy "nuts".
I agree with stan livedeath. Knock it off. You are getting very boring.
Just keep going to your Kingdom Hall, because you don't belong here. You are only playing games.

3 years in the making
by Judgerussellford inthursday while i was at work, a new elder stopped by the house (almost 3 years after fading) to encourage us to go back to meetings.
said everyone misses us.
if you did, why not stop by and say hi every now and then?
-
HappyDad
If you really wanted to fade, you should totally ignore any thought of meeting with them. Yes, them! Because that elder will not come alone. This is nothing more than an investigation to determine if they should go beyond a "friendly?" chit chat. You cannot be altruistic with them.
Prepare for the worst.

Renee86. Is 86 the year you were born? If it is, then that makes you 36 years old. If this is right, then I must say that you don't have much "grasp" of the world around you. Please don't think me rude, but at age 36, most people have a pretty good knowledge of the world around them and making relationships. Or is it that you are completely baffled about Jehovah's Witnesses? From this and previous posts, you seem to be trying to understand what JW's are about. Just run away from the situation you are getting into as fast as you can. If you persist, you will have a life of heartache. Find a guy who isn't bound by religious superstition and high control.

God forbid that a JW own a pickup truck. Fellow JW's will be like flies on shite wanting you to haul stuff for them.

Dating with a guy
by Renee86 inhi,.
if you date a jw guy do you say to each other you are actually dating or courting?.
-
HappyDad
If you are not a JW and he is, it could be the biggest mistake of your life. JW's are only supposed to "see" other JW's. If he still says he is a JW and has JW family, then he will still want to please them and most likely would not tell them he is seeing a non-JW. Dating like this is a complete no-no for them. If you really like this guy and it actually leads to marriage, there's a chance he will try to get you to become a JW. If you don't convert and he continues as a JW, there will be many problems in your marriage. You can read countless stories of JW/Non-JW couples and the lousy marriages they are stuck in on this forum.
My advice is to run for your life while you can.

Sixteen years later and wow is life different
by BlackSwan of Memphis ini have no idea if this is the right place to post this.
if you're just leaving the witnesses or questioning and toying with the idea of leaving..... life goes by fast.
and either you rip the band aid off and deal with it or let it fester and eat you alive.
