hello all.. this is my first time posting on this forum, my name is nathan and i have been waching the forum for the last few days.. the reson i am here is i am looking for a bit of encouragement and to ask for your prayers to help me.. ok i first came into the truth when i was about 6 years old i got baptized and was in the truth untill i was about 18 when i disasotiated myself.. im now 29 and somthing has happend in my life in the last month that has made me stand up and take a good long look at my life now and when i was a witness.. i have made my desition to go back to the meetings and hope to be reinstated.
i have just resently given up smoking (cold turkey) and am finding that to be hard after only one week.. tomorrow will be the first meeting i will atend on my long road to aceptance and i have to say i am very nervus about it.. anyway i wont take up anymore of your time i just wanted to ask if you could all remember me in your prayers and ask jehova to help me conquer my problems and then maybe i can have the life i used to have back
Go back? Never.........tried it once in my "guilt"............but the guilt has left and I now know the truth.......
What smells like bs is usually some kind of s..t anyway!

i was speaking to a lady today who isnt a witness.
she's a very intellegent, well educated and well travelled girl, and she tells me how much she enjoys reading the watchtower and awake.
i said to her that she has to be joking, and she tells me that she she likes them a lot.
I have no contact with WT literature whatsoever. My mind is finally getting clear and don't want to smear dung on my frontal lobes anymore.
Freedom is sooooooooooooo beautiful!

logic tells us that the "preaching work" is alot to do about nothing.
knocking on doors when no one is home is a stupid waste of time!
the odds of finding a bible study that gets baptized after leaving a person a tract or magazine has got to be ridiculously low.
I agree. I used to love it when no one was home -- I would linger at the door longer so that the others out in service would get ahead of me and take more doors. I dreaded when someone would actually answer the door. When someone did answer, I would immediately whip out the WT and hope that would turn them off.
This was me. I set a good example as an elder hehe. My morning knock was just a little more than a light tap. Worked with one bro who I thought was trying to break the door when he knocked! But come to think of it............I bet most of those people were home..........just like I am home when "they" come and knock on my door. But I know it is them and don't answer.
Ohh geesh........it's Saturday morning...........and I'm running late for...........for..........the flea market.

In the real world my daughter and gold morning would 'probably' miss me and a few other people will miss me for awhile. They will say............"he was a good guy". But in a few days I'd be forgotten just like the many I have known who have come and gone.
On the db...........nah.........I wouldn't be missed.

Very good cigars. On my trips to visit gold morning in New York, I stop at a Seneca Indian tobacco shop on my way home. All tobacco is tax free. Example: Newport 100's = $22.00 per carton.
They have sooooooooooo many brands of cigars too! The ones mentioned above are good. I bought some cigars grown in this country from Cuban seed tobacco and they are excellent. Can't remember the brand though!
You can also purchase from them over the internet. Keyword: Seneca Indians
I'm at gold morning's now and am leaving for home Monday morning. I will stop at the tobacco shop and check out more cigars and buy a few cartons of cigs for friends.

my ex husband (who is dfd but not a professsed apostate) told me yesterday that in october there is going to be a big push for preaching doom in service.. like the last chance to get people in before the end.. .
has anyone else heard this?.
i assume either his brother who is a dub or his mother have passed this on to him, in order to scare him to come back quick before everyone dies.. .

I find it interesting that they are doing the special campaign in October, just a couple of weeks before the big election.
If I remember correctly, weren't quite a few of these tract pushes done at election time? I wonder what the reason was for that!

i was reading our local paper and there was a article that a hospice has opened in our area and volunteers are needed to help take care of those who's time is very short.
i thought about it ,if i could handle seeing these people die in-front of me and seeing the sorrow on their loved one's face's , so i mentioned my thought's to my jw husband how i would like to volunteer at the hospice and help them with the caring they need before they die.
who did i think i was telling this to, his answer to me was ,,,,what ?
Being a JW for over 30 years, I heard over and over............."having plenty to do in the work of the Lord". There were even a few articles in the mags about............"Should You Volunteer"?
The bottom line was that the preaching work should be all encompassing in our lives. Any time spent in other types of volunteering was all for "nought"! Geesh............what a bunch of crap we were fed!
Even while a JW I did a bit of "worldly" volunteer work in a few different ways. Probably the best work I did was as a volunteer fireman............and this when I was an elder. I kept it quiet from most of my fellow dubs. I wonder if I would have been chastised for spending valuable time putting out a fire in a fellow JW's home or a Kingdom Hall?
