Oh........yes!
I forgot one of the most positive things that happened to me in 2004.
Meeting all of you wonderful people here on JWD.
Some nuttier than me and others not so nutty. A lot of intellegent minds here! Isn't it great that you can really use your mind for something other than repetitious underlining and answering like a robot?
A better year in 2005 for all.

Falling head over heels in love at my age (57) with someone I met here at JWD..........thinking that it could NEVER happen to me...................and spending the most wonderful summer of my "mid-life" with her...........actually talking and considering marriage (both of us did this)
Meeting and loving her grown children and granddaughter............and getting reciprocal love from them..........
Planning trips and vacation time together..........putting my whole soul and very being into this relationship because the encouragement was there and because I knew that she was the one I would spend the rest of my life with............planning for her and my daughter to meet (they talked on the phone and my daughter really liked her)
Spending 2 to 4 hours each night talking on the phone long distance (except when I was at her home)
Actually being able to listen to love songs and relate to them like I did 30-35 years ago.
Willing to give every last penny and ounce of my life to the betterment of this relationship.
I'm going to be 58 this month and I'm feeling emotionally devastated........and having a hard time coping with life at this time ....this is one of the reasons I stayed with my daughter in Florida for the last 3 months.
What happened?
In the blink of an eye.......everything changed.........just like changing channels on TV..........how can a grown person tell you that they "really love you"..........."call you honey"........and the next day seem like a stranger that you are trying to have a conversation with?
I love her dearly and still hope it comes to be the two of us.......(am I hoping for too much?) I would give my life for her.
She doesn't read JWD these days........but I have a feeling she will read this and never talk to me again. (We still talk several times a week.......because I'm the one who calls her)
My life as a JW is far behind me............but the life with her is going to be hard to get over.........
What do I do? Give my hopes of a life with her up completely and move on.........or still cling on to hopes that may never happen now?
Yes people.........I'm having a hard time with this. I think this is harder than leaving the WTS since I have no family ties there.
I'm soooooo tired of crying.......I'm too old for this. Why should a man my size and my age be crying over love?
Thanks for listening,

I love a lot of the Christian mucic. The WOW Worship CD's are the greatest. They have all the top music and it gets me in a great mood. And the words make me think that I now know God in a way that I never knew when I was a JW.

Working in the kitchens during the summer assemblies.........man, we had a blast.
And...27 years of marriage to a wonderful JW wife until she died.
That's all gone. Now I have a new life and am a happy person doing and following the dreams that were pooh poohed as a JW. <------- now that is real poo poo!

Anybody make New Year's resolutions/have cabbage, black-eyed peas, etc?
by Frannie Banannie in.
i don't know where the tradition came from, but down here in the south, it's traditional to eat cabbage, black-eyed peas, ham....and since cornbread seems to go so well with it...heh....wonder what it means....i know the cabbage is for luck with money in the new year, but not sure about the rest.. anyone else make any new year's resolutions?.

Started my resolutions today Frannie. I really need to get in some sort of physical shape again since I'm going to be 58 pretty darn soon.
Got me a brand new Total Gym (the Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley type) but I didn't pay the $1,400 through the infomercial. Got mine on e-bay.......brand new for only $300.00. It was delivered on Thursday. I'm feeling my first workout today. Oooooohhh......I think I'm going to hurt a little bit! But.......no pain, no gain. ( I want to lose......not gain.....weight that is)
And.........starting next week........I go back on the Herbalife program. I once lost 32 lbs. in 10 weeks on it.
Wish me continuous resolution keeping,

LittleToe's Travels - Dec 2004
by LittleToe insorry if i'm boring you once more, but it seemed like a good way to finish off the year.... so i'm sitting here listening to "wilderness of mirrors" by fish, wracking my brains to recount the events of the last two weeks.. it started by knocking off early to catch a flight to glasgow, on the 17th.
i normally catch a boat and drive down, but i managed to get a flight that was cheaper, so i went for the comfort instead.
mistake number one was forgetting to print off a map for the carhire place, though.

Thanks for sharing your travel experience Little Toe. You made me feel like I was reading a travel magazine. Sure hope I can get to a fest one day to meet some good people from JWD.

P.S. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. May 2005 be even better!

Recently re-read (read it the first time over 40 yrs. ago) Great Expectations by Dickens. Am now reading the Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky.
I got on this kick to re-read the classics now that I am in a more mature (damn.....I'm getting old) frame of mind.
