This sickens me. The parents should be given the same punishment as was dealt to the kids but double or triple the amount just for starters. Then jail time should be given........then some more flogging the day of their release. Then instead of putting alchol on the wounds.......how about rubbing salt into them.
Yes.........I could do this to people who hurt children.

by outbutnotdown inof course, different people enjoy different types of humour, so there will be a wide variety of responses, but if you could mention why you find that person funny, personally, it would be appreciated.. i would have to say that i have to pick two people.
i enjoy having humour displayed in a tasteful manner, but with wit.
a life-lesson taught with a laugh is about as good as it gets, imo, even if i am not capable of accomplishing that very well myself.

My Parents Are Coming
by Why Georgia inmy parents are arriving today.
i am their only child and the sole and complete focus of their love, devotion and advice.. they have watched the jehovahs witnesses and my jw inlaws just bring chaos into our family and they have not appreciated it one bit.
my mother especially is looking forward to seeing my mother in law after she heard about the last visit and how she has been treating me and our children.. my mother had been absolutely against religion since we left the coc many years ago.

As far as your parents new found faith................just listen...........and try to tune out without alienating them.
This scenario is up to you...........as to the outcome.............just listen and smile..........almost like a Stepford Wife......until the time in the future comes when you can counter their talk with the spirit of wisdom and mildness.
To challenge anything now will only make things worse.
To say something hurtful now will just make things worse.
There is a time to bite your tongue even if you are right in your thinking.
Look at the total outcome..........the entire future of your familys happiness.

for those of you who dont know what i'm on about it's regarding my post "the john denver issus, vote now" .
having been subjected to 50 yrs of preducial abuse while i was a jw can have a pretty lasting effect towards some of the people who were responsible for dishing it out, you should have been at the concert it made me feel sick.

You said what you saw..................and I believe you!
There were many answers to this post.........some bad.............most of them good.
Just too many skeptics and doubting Thomas' here!
But what else can we expect.............after a time/lifetime of WT indoctrination?

The John Denver Issue, vote now.
by londoner inthis is for those of you who sent me a private message saying you dont believe me, your letting your old jw traits come out, you know, not believing things when the facts stare you in the face unless it comes from the org.
maybee you should go back and re join them.. to confirm what happened .
i was at a john denver concert in the uk many years ago, he asked all catholics to stand up, after he got them seated he did the same with church of england, then the same with a couple of other religions, after he asked all jw's to stand up he announced that the concert would not go on untill they had all left and he then left the stage.

My flight instructor was a FAA crash examiner and he said that in many small plane crashes suicide is suspected. THink about it if you know that your dying get in a small plane, load that bugger up with high-test, get good and ripped and fly straight into a mountain...
Sorry to admit it......... but in one of my earliest posts as a Newby.....I talked about this........the question was asked about suicide..........and considering my state of mind at one time..........and after I got my private pilot license........a year after my wife died............and my daughter was going through a nasty divorce from an abusing JW
assholehusband.......and I was totally fed up with the "brotherhood"......before I took the steps to investigate the bOrg.........and I was more confused than ever........I would ACTUALLY try to figure out a way to crash the Cessna I was flying and make it look like an accident so my daugher could get all of my insurance. But I'm glad I never carried it out.So if JD might have had the same thoughts and flew that homebrew aircraft.............with some thoughts of ending it.......then so be it.........it happened..........and he died doing what he loved. All the money and fame does not bring happiness at all. He had his own personal demons.............and so do I.........and so do all of you.
God Bless You John Denver..............I loved your music.
Scroll to the present...............I sure am glad it never happened. My daughter is happier than ever...............and so am I........in spite of a recently failed romance ( the lady is still wonderful in my eyes......I am to blame) I am a VERY happy man.
Life is very precious and I'm glad to be alive and can now look at the challenges of life in new light (not JW light)

this was around 1973 and 1975 fever was starting to take over many individuals.
with breathless excitement he told us the follow story.

I guess I can myself as "priveliged" to have heard so many JW urban legends.........including this one. This is another one I forgot about.
How about the one shortly before 1975 where the JW's were talking about how the carrion (dead body) eating birds were multiplying in an unheard of rate. There take on it was that Armageddon was definitely coming just like the FDS said in 1975.

John Denver had a lot of problems.......alchohol probably being his biggest one! How many of us here are problem free?
I loved his music when he first broke onto the scene but got a sour taste when I heard about his (true or false.....I don't care) asking JW's to leave his concerts. Of course I was a died in the wool JW then too!
As the years passed and the radio played his songs, my opinion about him didn't seem that important anymore. His music was all that mattered and when PBS here in the states did a special (I think it was 2 hours) about him after his death and showed the better side of him and what motivated him to write as he did, I became a fan again. During that show my eyes blured a few times as I identified life experiences about my late wife with some of the songs.
Whether he disliked JW's or had outright hatred for them.....I don't care! How many here dislike or HATE JW"S now?
If some on the board were as famous as Denver, wouldn't you think they just might ask JW's to leave their concerts in order to show their dislike/hate for them?
Actually.....any dislike I have today goes mainly to the bOrg in Brooklyn and only a few flesh and blood ex bros.
