JW work situation

i work for a rather large financial institution in nyc.

i run a large profit center and manage over 100 people.

on of my best workers is a dub doing a slow but progressive fade.

Apparently the fader was DFed Friday night. The "Over Zealous Dub" announced this to several other employees and stated that she would no longer have any dealings with the fader.
She also revealed the nature of his "Sin".

Find out what congregation the "dub" attends..............call her in for a "nice" chat and inform her that you cannot tolerate this type of harrassment in the work place..........and that you are sending a letter to her body of elders about her dispicable "revealing of confidential matters" to people who have no connection to the problem.

Ask the elders in the letter, how she knows about these things anyway. Just say that you are close to someone familiar with the JW's and that you know what the "rules" are. You don't have to reveal your onetime affiliation to them.

Do Your Neighbors Think You're Nuts?

do you socialize with your neighbors?

everyone knows how we as a religious group only socialized with each other, then when inside the hall, we only associated with a select few, those who were deemed worthy of our association.

now that you are out, or in varying degrees of staying within the borg, are you allowing yourself to get out and mingle amongst those in your community?

I'm sure my neighbors thought I was nuts for many years. We only had small chit-chat all that time. They all knew we were JW's.

When my wife was on her deathbed, I got to be closer to my neighbors because they were the only ones who DAILY came to check on things and to help take care of her. They brought food and sat for hours when I had to go to work. Not so by any JW's I was associated with.

Now I am friendly with everyone on street because I've come out of my JW shell and have told them so. They all know that I have nothing to do with the JW's anymore. I can't believe the respect I get......maybe because I now give respect in an unconditional way.

There isn't a constant socializing, but I have been invited to a few gatherings. My neighbors are not big on cookouts or parties, but a few have family gettogethers. The one I went to the other year was for my neighbor who got called up in the Army reserves to go overseas. Sure glad he came home safe!

Just like there are pro JW's on this forum ( YES...........you are welcome here ) and there are some pro Catholic's also ( you are welcome too ), you must keep in mind that the Vatican is no different than any other BIG BUSINESS. As Don Corleone said in the movie "GODFATHER" ..................... it's nothing personal..........it's just business. And since their business is encompassed with millions if not billions of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, the Vatican as well as Mafia/LaCosaNostra or the local boyz in the hood want their own man in charge.

Religion is only a means to gain the financial rewards of the masses.......the same as addiction is a means to gain the financial means of the local people of the hood. The powers within that enclave.......whether it be the College of Cardinals........the boyz in the hood.........or whatever.........will do WHATEVER is necessary to keep their own group at the forefront.

Think about it for a moment............was Jesus right when he said ......"you will be no part of the world"........whatever that statement may mean or whatever way you want to take it?

Betcha you're fat and bald just like me. After all......I'm still only 29 in my mind! I could post a pic of myself from 1969 and TRY to convince everyone here that I look like a young Clint Eastwood too! (mixed emotions)

i got a call from the er last night---hubby had been in an accident and they were running tests and x-rays.

he was in terrible pain.

they called back during the night during the night saying he has a shattered sternum and other injuries.

Will reading CoC automatically make me want to leave WTS?

i have not read the book and you know what the org says about it.

Will Crisis of Conscience surely send me into a tailspin? I haven't had the guts to read it yet. I believe that I can maintain an objective viewpoint, just from my experience on sites like these. I do understand everyone's anger, frustration, etc. Yet, I don't quite feel like dropping WTS totally.

I was the same way about 4-5 years ago. And when I got the "guts" to order it ( and when I did I was scared poopless, but wanted to be "objective" anyway). It was about the middle of the end. The beginning of the end had already started some years previous. I still felt there was some "truth" to the WT, but is slowly faded away. After all.........it was all that was inputed into my brain for 30 years! Even after I read CoC, I tried to justify the teachings I was taught. But in all things.........................TRUTH always overrides falsehood...........and now I am free.

If there are such things as Saints...........then Ray Franz should be the next one. Although I don't believe.(I left the Catholic Church in my younger days to become a JW) I would be one of the first to have an altar to Saint Raymond. (This sounds corny, but.........Ray has been a Godsend to 10's of thousands of JW's with nagging ??????'s

whyamihere and my son's little guy will be coming home from the hospital (hopefully) later this afternoon.

he has regained 2 lbs.

Witness School

has anyone here ever gone to a witness school.

you know the school jw's set up to keep their kids separate from the world.

you would have the daily text every morning and of course a kingdom song had to be sung.. i'd love to hear your experiences.

Witness school? I never knew there was such a thing! Is that a west coast phoenomenom? Here in the east......as active and pro JW as I was at one time, I still never heard about this.

Talk about "arrested development"!

But 20 years ago, who knows? We might have sent our kid to one if there was such a thing in this area.

Lordy, lordy............I can only imagine how messed up and non-functional my kid would be today if that would have happened.

there is a car i see occasionally, in our area, that has a license plate i would love to have.

it isn't a vanity plate, just a random number with letters.. it is "jwx 123" (not sure of the numbers) the first part i just love!

There was a young bro in the KH that I used to attend who showed his rebellion by buying a Corvette and had a vanity plate that read...........1PHLSTN (Philistine) He no longer goes to meetings.
