Terry,
I read your book just about a month age and now, reading this brought a tear to my eye. You have a gift of writing and making the reader feel.
Best wishes and good luck.

is this a beautiful story, or what?.
act one________.
now in an ordinary romance of the golden hollywood era, the boy goes off to war while the young lady waits nervously for his safe return.in a cary grant, debra kerr movie, the two vow to meet after a certain period of time and tragic circumstances intervene.. in my story, the young man is a conscientious objector who goes to prison instead of off to the vietnam war.

i know we are all anonymous for our own personal reasons, so i understand if you would rather not say.
but if you don't mind sharing that would be cool.
i currently live in georgia, usa.
Wow.......we have and international brother/sisterhood here. I'm so happy to see that so many all over the world have awakened!
Be nice if some enterprising exJW would start a travel business for all of us exes. I still get brochures from Illinois Travel for all the JW tours, cruises, and trips. I'd rather be on a trip or whatever with REAL people. lol

Bonita Springs, Florida since February of 2014. Before that I lived in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area all my life.

thank you all for your sincere encouragement during these last few weeks.
finally, she is at peace.
i was with her , holding her hand when she died.
So sorry for your loss Minimus. Lost my Mom 17 years ago. I don't believe the JW stuff anymore but one thing I still feel......death is truly an enemy as they always say.

for years i denied myself the thing i loved to do the most to be a good jw.
i love to ride off-road motorcycles.
so, i am going to indulge myself and get a new dirt bike.. i love to see god's creation from the vantage point of a motorcycle on a mountain top.
All my life I wanted a Harley Davidson but being a dub stopped anything joyful. After I started my fade in the very early 2000's a full dress Harley FLTC (biggest you can get with bags, tour pack, radio, fairing, etc.) came into my life in 2002. At the time I was 54 years old. I joined the local HOG club and had many enjoyable rides on the highway. On October 4th 2003 I went for a local ride by myself and gassed up on my way home so I could be ready for a long ride to Columbus, Ohio from the Pittsburgh area where I lived. We were going to the American Motorcycle Museum the next day, Sunday.
Three blocks from my home, an 86 year old man ran a stop sign and T-boned (broadsided) me. Totaled the bike and I wound up in the trauma unit. Unbelievable...but nothing was broken. His car missed touching my body. The only hurt I had was landing after flying some feet. I was released the next day but limped and ached for a few weeks after.
I haven't been on two wheels since. lol
Dubby, enjoy yourself. Do everything you always wanted to do but couldn't while being a dub.

recently i saw a link to an article from the st. petersburg times (one of these links on the side of this forum to sometimes old articles).
it was an article about jws and their preaching work.
imo, middle to favorable.. but the one thing was from a door where the jws are saying they're not here to convert anyone, they just want to share a scripture.. what sort of bs is this?
I'm going back over 40 years ago. The older ones in the cong. would tell us that we can't convert someone. Once they see the "Truth" they will convert themselves. It still sounded like BS to me.
But that could still be their way of reasoning on that statement. "We're not trying to convert you."

http://www.alaskahighwaynews.ca/dawson-creek/churches-non-profits-worry-about-changes-to-property-tax-exemptions-1.2071538.
the city currently exempts 2.19 per cent of its annual tax revenues, a total of around $318,000 in foregone income.
a policy brought forward by city staff would cap exemptions at one per cent of revenues, or around $159,299.
All religious properties should be taxed. Just think of the millions of dollars being lost by towns and cities. I'm sure some of the towns in upstate New York would love the revenue from Watchtower properties. If these institutions were taxed, maybe property taxes could remain steady for the hard working home owner who sees constant increases in their yearly tax bill.

are the governing body of the wt wickedly smart with extremely high iq or are they leaders of the wt because they were at the right place at the right time.
(in other words, pure luck )-think lottery.
ive seen them talk in jwtv and you can never convince anyone in the whole world that these guys are in the same category as someone smart or cunning like jim simons who founded renaissance technologies or bill gates.
The GB are the most educated and intelligent men on earth. They've read over 50 years of the Watchtower and Awake! Nothing can compare to that.
