Metallica have a great way of putting things, i've changed 2 words in this (not quite soul either..)
Dear elder
Dear overseer
What is this hell you have put me through
Believer
Deceiver
Day in day out live my life through you
Pushed onto me what’s wrong or right
Hidden from this thing that they call life
Dear brother
Dear overseer
Every thought I’d think you’d disapprove
Curator
Dictator
Always cencoring my every move
Children are seen but are not heard
Tear out everything inspired
Innocence
Torn from me without your shelter
Barred reality
I’m living blindly
Dear mother
Dear father
Time has frozen still what’s left to be
Hear nothing
Say nothing
Cannot face the fact I think for me
No guarantee,it’s life as is
But damn you for not giving me my chance
Dear brother
Dear overseer
You’ve clipped my wings before I learnt to fly
Unspoiled
Unspoken
I’ve outgrown that fucking lullaby
Same thing I’ve always heard from you
Do as I say not as I do
Innocense
Torn from me without your shelter
Barred reality
I’m living blindly
I’m in hell without you
Cannot cope without you two
Shocked at the world that I see
Innocent victim please rescue me
Dear brother
Dear oversear
Hidden in your world you’ve made for me
I’m seething
I’m bleeding
Ripping wounds in me that never heal
Undying spite I feel for you
Living out this hell you always knew -

What Are You READING?
by patio34 inokay, it seems it's high time we had another thread like this!.
for serious reading, i have exceptions to the rulers by amy goodman (goes great with fahrenheit 911!
)the curse of adam by bryan skyles (i think) (it predicts the extinction of males.

I just finished catch-22 Joseph Heller, so funny yet sad, how men try use war and bad situations to their own advantage. seems its still happening
hopefully the library will have some of the books mentioned here, there some pretty good suggestions, maybe I'll reread the dune series.. -

Did Being a JW Make You a Bully VICTIM in SCHOOL?
by Smoldering Wick ini read this article in the montreal gazette that talked about a young witness kid being bullied in school.
it made me think back to all the times i was treated differently in school for being a jehovah's witness.
i grew up in a predominately mexican community and went to public school there from 1st-12th grade as a jw.

>Listening to my damn parents talk about God 24/7 listening to those damn stupid kingdom songs always saying >how they are right and everybody else is wrong and having them spit out their self-righteous bullshit
its hard dealing with this.. my mother wants us to have one meal together as a family, so I try but then we sit in silence because any topic I bring up always ends up with it being a sign of the great tribulation, the last days, what someone gave a talk about at the meeting.. I've given up trying to argue, she just ignores the fact that I'm totally disinterested in jw conversation with her, but she is forever telling me that people miss me at meetings and would love to see me come back, people I never liked or talked to in the first place..
I jsut want to leave, but circumstances are preventing that.. -

Finally!!! Run in with JWs...
by Tashawaa ini've lived here for about 1 1/2 years and haven't seen a single jw.
i read all the posts where there have been run-ins, people called on, elders talked to, etc.
and couldn't hardly wait for my turn.

I've bumped into a couple on the street doing field service, always saying that I'm not interested, and brushing them off when they ask why.
What got to me was when this guy from some student church group came up to me and asked if I was religious at all, and I replied no, I've had bad experience with religion and now I avoid all of them, he asked what religion I was involved with. When I told him he said he had never heard of them, but his religion was really accepting of people and I should try attend a meeting on the sunday morning, all the people are really friendly and they don't ask for money. It sounded way to much like the jw's, he even followed me half a block before he seemed to notice I was ignoring him and gave up..
They always seem to appear when you least expect them or want them to appear, when you feel like having an argument theres non in sight. -

More exposure for my music!
by Nosferatu inyeah, another shameless plug for my music.
i found a great website that will allow me 50 megs of storage for music!
this means better bandwidth for my tunes (rather than using the free sites).

Correcting Falsehoods About Ray Franz's Beliefs (Holy Spirit, Trinity)
by allpoweredup insee what he himself says at http://www.commentarypress.com/essay-holyspirit.html i was told many falsehoods by watchtower diehards such as he is now "a rabid trinitarian," "a nondenominalist or pentecostal.
" also he's transdenominalist (associates with christians and others) not just those of one belief system.
i'm sure many of you also heard a lot of falsehoods put out about him.

to me it just points out the fact that no-one really knows what god (or whatever greater power one believes in) is/was. The holy spirit seems like a random force that is used as cover for all the random unexplainable events that may or may not have occured in history and were attributed to god in the bible. i'm not really sure what point i'm trying to make here, except that i guess i'm at a loss as to what to believe. The jw upbringing has resulted in me pretty much rejecting the bible completely, so I'm trying to find some other explanation for how we came to be on earth.
i guess this is off topic, but i've been reading some 'conspiracy' theories lately, a couple by David Icke, it makes for interesting reading, problem is that at almost any point in his books you can close them and say what utter garbage it all is, and end up being more confused than when you started. which is where i am..

cocktails/mixing drinks
by baysixforme ini went to a bbq the other night and had a couple of glasses of white wine before being offered a white rum with black pepper.
i knocked back two of those...not particularly large ones either and that was it...i was somewhere else!.
the good part about it was that i was with some good friends who were able to take care of me....the bad part was that i could hardly remember anything the next day.

i find that drinking smirnoff for a couple of hours and then switching to romanov or russian bear for the next couple of hours (due to wallet pressure) has that kind of effect on me as well. Don't drink much rum after that one night.., varsity party, woke up lying on a cardboard box on some stairs in small building on campus the next day..
Mixing beer with spirits generally has the worst effect though.. -
