  607 Question....not debate

  to make a long story short i work with one of my old friends who happens to be a ms. we often get in discussions about witnesses and i have got him too admit that i am right about somethings in the past.

  i think he has looked into some of the things we have talked about and found that i am right but he just kinda dismisses them.

  anyway here is the deal.

I think he has looked into some of the things we have talked about and found that I am right but he just kinda dismisses them.

  Anyway here is the deal. I almost made this agreement with him yesterday at work. I was going to challenge him to find one accepted historical publication not printed by the whatchtower that says 607 is the date for the distuction of Jerusalem. If he found it I would go back to the hall. (Not that I really would) I have read a few websites which say there is none, but I wanted to make sure first.

  Will I win this bet?

  By accepted historical publication I mean a text that would by accepted as a book widely accepted by historians and proffessors as accurate.

  looks like alot of jw's are freakin out about posting that information online this year.

  No problem. The story of how I got that doc is funny. I got it by shear luck. One of my coworkers in a MS that I have known forever, and I let him borrow a thumb drive from me. I got it back and what do you think is on it, but the doc. I forgot I had copied it to my work computer till I saw this thread.

  Demonic expereiences

  all bs and religion aside we've all heard the demon stories of the witnesses but has anyone actually had an personal experience such that you can't explain with your rational mind that shocked you and may lend credence to the possibility of something paranormal.

  not something hyped, or emotional,but something your gut told you is just couldn't happen and did?

  I had a lot of "paranormal" things happen to me at a previous job I had. I was the manager at a swimming pool store. The store was a very old house dating from the late 1800's just south of Buffalo NY. It had gone through many owners before the company I worked for bought it. It used to be a resturant and then a bar right before my company bought it. It was a drafty old building and you never felt alone there. Being the workaholic I was, I often found mself working alone late a night. One time I was working in my office which was in the upstairs of the building (at this point I should bring out that the upstairs was like a Mini apartment) and I had to go to the bathroom. I walked out of my office and through a small kitchen to get to the bathroom. As I walked through I noticed that a door was open on one of the cabinets so I closed it thinking one of my employees had left it open. I went to the bathroom and when I came out through the same way I had come in every door and drawer in all the cabinets had opened. (There was about 18 doors and drawers combined) Although I had, previous encounters at the store before this really freaked me out and I just bolted from the store. I even left all the money for the day sitting on my desk, which was several thousand dollars.

  I know for a fact that no one else could have been in the store and I did not imagine it because when I came back the next day all of the cabinets where still open.

  Several of my employees had things happen to them also in the store. One kid that I had working for me had a great expirence in the kitchen with the TV turning on by itself and changing channels. We all had to mny expirences to list here.

  I guess this does not count as demonic but ghosts are kind of the same thing.

  bankruptcies and foreclosures on homes are on the rise - 200% higher over last year.

  some are due to people falling on hard times, but the majority are due to over spending.. this affects all of us.. juni .

  I have heard a ton of people are getting screwed on variable rate mortgages. After September 11th when all the interest rates dropped to nothing people where lent a ton more money than they would normally have been since the interest rates where so low. Now that they are going back up again I know some people whos payments increased more than 400 a month. That is a tough increase for people to deal with when most people live paycheck to paycheck anyway.

  How soon, is too soon, to remarry after your spouse dies.

  has done so for years, and because of this, i know this elder a little too.

  not that we are close friends now, but when we were witnesses in the 1990's, we were friends with him and his wife.

  they had three children, all fully grown now, and had been married about thirty years.

  I had an Aunt die very unexpectantly when I was about 15. My Uncle was on the prowl in less then three months. He got married about a year after his wife died and I remember having the conversation with my mom about the "new order". I told her I wanted to be there when he had to explain to his dead wife how he didnt feel like waiting for her so he just found a replacement. That always baffled me about people who got remarried like that. My next door n eighbor and her husband where old school witnesses. He lived to be about 72 she, about the same age, is still going. She remarried about 4 months after he died. I could never have the faith they do, that they will see them again, and not wait to be with them again. You want to talk about an awkward moment.
