  They have used the all powerful freedom of religion stance.

  Yes, you can push religious quackery and people are free to believe religious quackery in all its many forms....just make sure you don't lie about or misrepresent your findings. This may take a while to play out, but once the plantiff lawyers start picking up the scent....well...

  Once the WT got bold enough and felt invincible enough to start playing doctor, they put themselves on slippery ground.

  The information race is on!!

  I believe they will have to respond in some way to this. The potential for damage is waayy too great if this gets traction...it has the potential to spiral completely out of control if a lid is not found fast.

  If you don't get it, its about misrepresentation, about anything that ultimately influences a persons decision.

  After a quick read here are a couple of other things that caught my eye.

  one court has held a religious organization liable for misrepresenting its use of donated funds.[5]

  Thus, Jehovah’s Witness parents may be surprised to learn that precedent denies their supposed “right” to make martyrs of their children.[27]

  the misrepresentations serve to warp the follower’s mind regarding the actual medical and historical perspective.

  I agree Dorayakii, some will never leave...and I don't believe the WT will go away completely anytime soon.

  But, these things do sometimes have a cumulative effect. While many are still attending, among these are those who are still inwardly reeling from the recent revelations (i.e. UN, child molestation, generation change), and those who are leery about the recent education stance. JWs are about pretense,...pretense that everything is fine in paradise. But there is only so much that any ethical or thinking person can take.

  If this is major, it might just be more than the needle that is needed to break the camel's back.

  I dont know what the news is, but if it is what i'm guessing and a few others have suggested, I would suggest preparing yourself to be of some sort of support to some pretty devastated souls.

  As much as I'm hoping for the news, in reality I hate the prospect of seeing my parents especially deal with what could be some very tramatic revelations. They've given their life to this cult.

  I think I might have an idea, but I don't want to jinx it even though I think its already been hinted at. But only a couple of things could evoke more emotion and reaction than money and the misuse of it. I have my hopes on one of them.

  As a general comment though, what most people cannot tolerate, is hypocrisy. Most JWs even if misguided can't stand it, and people who are not can't stand it either.
