seems the wt doesnt like it.

what would you think if i told you "last thursday i went to the service meeting at the kingdom hall to hear the presiding overseer give a talk from the platform.

most of us here know that to mean "last thursday i went to church to hear the head pastor give a sermon on the door to door ministry from the pulpit", a pretty common and straight forward event for a jehovah's witness.

i asked my pennicostal wife what she thought the phrase meant and she guessed it had something to do with slavery and human sacrifice.

i went to my first meeting in 9 months (dont ask ive got my reasons cant say on an public board).

they reviewed a wt july 1st page 12----19. it was saying that you should have concern for people who are spiritually weak you should remember all the good things they had done in the past.

even if they wernt going to meetings anymore.

Defd you are truly in the minority in the way you feel, its a shame not everyone is like you!!

I stopped going to meetings in the end cos Id had it. The pressure of going to meetings the back biting, judging , lack of love wore me down, but im not surprised ppl are like this everyones so tired, oh and they blame that on this system aswell but its the org.

The meetings are tedious and boring i felt it was me, it was only when I came on this site i realized what was wrong.

Now im trying to build up my relationship with Jehovah but this will be between him and me, without the spirtual straight jacket of the WT If you could just go to the meetings cos you wanted too and not cos youd get the 3rd degree if you didnt im sure the JWs would be a much happier lot

It was strange going in but it was like we had never been away, bit like the twilight zone

Also to class someone as spitually weak is insulting and judgemental, most ppl become society weak, it was the org that affected my relationship with Jehovah for the worst

i have only been a recent user of this site.

the other night i explained what it was i was spending time reading online some evenings when my boyfriend is out and tried to explain how it is helping me finally let go of the jw beliefs that i have clung to for so long.

i thought he would be pleased, but he got really angry and now is very difficult any time i try to use the internet at home.

I feel a huge need to be on this site every day I dont know if its healthy, but I know I need it

One day I just want it to be a background subject but at the moment its a big part of my life its helping me to cope

my husband used to come on here but does so less and less. Infact I think it just works him up

He never thinks about the org has no emotional ties and has gone back to the way he felt before he came about 10 years ago

He just plays the game (and hates it) for me, and my daughter whos still in

It was saying that you should have concern for people who are spiritually weak you should remember all the good things they had done in the past. even if they wernt going to meetings anymore. And that jesus never critisized anyone for having DOUBTS I thought this was really interesting as I havent got a copy was it as charitable as it sounded . I was cringing

So for all those fading expect some phone call and cards of encouragement, as it was stated Jesus always took the initive to make ppl feel important and that they matter

this brings back memories of a late tea and a beer as soon as we came in and bedtime in half an hour

Oh yes we where trying to be inconspicuous not a chance when i sat down i broke the chair, it cracked so loud I nearly died. there where big gasps and a big bit of plastic flew down the isle

Leading double life

i ran into a young jw i hadn't seen in probably 12 years, anyways, she was the presiding overseer's daughter, perfect little jw... she's now 25 yoa, she is still an active witness and in fact a sympathizer to their crap but dressed in a low cut top, belly showing, carrying a beer, trolling for guys out a hot spot on a friday night with a "worldly" friend.. she talked to me for 5 mins and told me she had been df'd for a year but how horrible it was, she is reinstated and doing good..... but everything about her looks said she wasn't a good little jw.. i think more and more hypocrites are being raised in the organization.

i wouldn't be able to stand leading a double life, i would much rather be honest and not hiding who and what i am... but there are more young jws, including ones i would never suspect, that are jws by day, and regular people at night.

i think they are falling into the "sunday morning christians" mentality and carrying tons of guilt around with them.. i just wish they would wake up.

But since ive still got family in this is the way its got to be for a while. A friend from my old cong phoned me today and doesnt know ive not been to a meeting for months. Its really hard to listen to her complaining and not being able to say anything

I feel like a hypocrite, but hey I was when i was in so whats the difference
