"Now aside from that been terribly UNTRUE, when you say BS like this you impugn not only my integrity, but that of over 1.2 million men and women wearing the uniform. We don't F@cking serve politicians or I wouldn't have served under Clinton. Clinton who was proven a liar (I did not have sexual relations with that woman) Clinton who set up and protected his Golf Buddy the CEO of WorldCom. Same with ENRON."
Oh good grief. now Clinton was the liar and Bush is an angel for shaking a soldiers arm who had his hand blown off.
Think about it - what would've ANY president done in that situation? Of course you're going to show sympathy, especially when it was your decision that landed him in the hospital bed.
Show me Bush visiting some of the innocent iraqi children with limbs blown off and maybe i'll think he has a heart. Bush is doing nothing more than using his personality to capture supporters. People worship him and he loves it. He's getting worshipped and he's making big bucks and the scariest thing about it is that even though the whole world sees right through him, people in his country don't. He can't believe it, but he's DIGGIN IT! That's why he loves this country - he can get away with screwing up all of his life and still come out powerful and rich.
I can't believe the amount of people who trust politicians, democratic or republican.
WAKE UP PEOPLE THEY'RE All CORRUPT. Quit dreaming and thinking your president is an exception. It's amazing how the dirt on Bush is OLD NEWS and plain as day to see, still people follow him and support him.
I also find it quite interesting how people such as all of us who have left the Borg after learning how CORRUPT it is have gone straight into an even MORE CORRUPT world of politics! People have this desire to believe in something I guess, huh?

So was there some kind of special announcement or what?
I bet they're thinking Bush's road map to peace is going to succeed, N Korea will behave itself, the protests in Iran will lead to a revolution and then democracy, and then everyone will be able to say "We have peace and security!"
I wouldn't put money on it.

Jesus was gay - says academic
by ISP injesus was gay - says academic
jesus was gay and so were at least three of his 12 disciples, according to an australian academic.. .
dr rollan mccleary said jesus's astrological chart, clues in the scriptures and biblical translations, all played a part in his conclusions.. in a forthcoming book, he attempts to present st john's gospel in a new light to back up his claims, reports the herald sun.. dr rollan mccleary, a university of queensland phd graduate who now lives in melbourne, has just been awarded his doctorate for a thesis on gay spirituality.. an anglican and a qualified reader of astrological charts, dr mccleary said the planet uranus figured prominently in jesus's astrological chart, as it did with many gays..

"The position that you have taken seems to me to be is that its all fradulant. If this is your position then you are isolated even from most liberals as well as secular sources such as encyclopedias, etc. Hense there is no need for me to place further evidence before you as the fraud excuse will certainly be brought up."
we all know everything in the encyclopedia is correct.
what will you learn in the encyclopedia about who shot JFK and why? Centuries later we're a far more advanced civilization and we still are prone to scandals, deception and lies, what makes you think it's any different with this?
As far as Jesus being gay, I can't say for a certainty he was or wasn't. There's a possibility. All of the "worldly" illustrations and paintings of him make him look quite "effiminate" and I don't think anyone can argue with that. I can't remember which movie I saw, but the setting was in ancient Rome, and these two guys seemed very bi-sexual, talking about girls and then frolicing w/ each other...and that seemed to be the norm amongst the culture at that time period. How can anyone prove he was gay, bi-sexual or straight? I don't think anyone can so all we can do is speculate.
When it comes down to it, people will believe what they want to believe. Whatever they have painted in their mind is what is, no matter what you tell them/show them.
I don't see what the big deal with homosexuality is. I find it interesting how men that are "homophobic" (for lack of a better term) never have any problems when it comes to LESBIANS. Pretty hypocritical if you ask me. They're quick to make jokes about anal sex and what not, but I bet they've had anal sex w/ a girl before. :-P Or would watch two girls experiment....and geez, it's not like every gay male is into anal sex anyways. I can totally understand (and relate) if it's not your thing, but geez...deal with the fact that people are different and get over it. And the whole "it's not natural" argument..there's a whole bunch of things that aren't natural but still occur. We all know we'll die sooner or later, so why do we cry when a loved one passes? Because death is seemingly unnatural. Most of the
foodchemicals we eat aren't natural but hey, nobody is complaining. body piercings, tattooes, jewelry...all unnatural. So what's the difference? I don't understand why people are so prone to be so critical of differences. It's like everything has to fall into this certain pattern of familiarity, and if not it is automatically condemned and scourned.I was thinking today about something: According to the Bible God created Adam first. He created Eve only after Adam said he was lonely. So my question is, what would've happened had Adam never complained about being lonely?? Was God's original plan to simply replicate Adam and have a planet full of men? Or would he have left Adam all by himself?
Interesting thread though...thanks for posting.

The thing that aggravates me the most is that they prey on the truly honest hearted individuals of this world and manipulate their minds into thinking the Watchtower CORPORATION is god-inspired and would NEVER screw anyone out of money or teach anything that isn't true. And the fact that they've addressed every major scripture in the Bible and learned how to twist it in any way possible to fit their teachings.
Just love the way they can apply certain scriptures literally and others figuratively.
In four years I haven't made any headway with ANY of my family. I'm tired of trying to not say things in fear of them realizing i'm really an "apostate." Tired of them manipulating every conversation to make me feel GUILTY FOR LEAVING! Like I'm supposed to just stop believing differently and come back, simply so that I can say "I'm in the truth" and see/socialize w/ everyone again and compare publishers to those "reaching out and pioneering." Being blackmailed back into the religion just to restore our relationship is NOT COOL.
I'm sick of it. Working on a letter to send them. Don't think it'll go over very well, but I keep this in any longer.

I always find it amusing how people with no musical talent at all can quickly criticize those who have written, composed and performed scores of popular hits and have been well-known musicians and artists for years.
It's a tough business - always those who are quick to criticize.
Hillary, btw....Madonna is on "the cutting edge." I guess it all depends on what your definition of "cutting edge" is. Joni Mitchell would never come to my mind as a "cutting edge" artist, however i couldn't name one song by her if my life depended on it. To me that term refers to an artists ability to keep their style abreast with the current trends in music AND be successful, and Madonna has repeatedly done this through the years.
cheers,

In the UK we very seldomly even PLAY the National Anthem. Haven't done for thirty years. We've got less patriotic . As for pledges of alleigence or flag salutes, most Brits would be horrified at the idea. I think you'll find Europe is very similar in most instances."
Europe rocks.
Funny, i haven't been keeping up w/ this site lately, but it's funny how the same 'ol battles are still going on. Support the war, support the troops, liberate Iraq, blah blah...if you don't you love Sadaam...
Whatever. True a lot of Iraqi's are very happy this is happening. Who knows how long that happiness will last. The families of the the civilians who were killed aren't very happy. The thirsty and starving peeps aren't that happy right now either. And when everyone starts getting cancer from here on out, I'm sure there will be lots of complaints as well. Too early to tell how this will all end. Iraq may become a free, democratic country months from now and everything will be all fine and dandy. Or not. Iraq could turn into the epicenter of terrorists acts against democracy. Who knows? All we can do is hope and pray for the best.
Whatever happens, i hope our economy will make a turn around...this is getting ridiculous.
