Thanks, Lady Lee. I am considering your advice. I'm going to "sleep " on it, and try to figure out what the optimum thing to do is, in my opinion, that is. Hubert

Lady Lee, Correction...I meant I happened on a DIFFERENT site other than this one. That site is the one I am asking about in my post.
I have been posting on this site, and know it's an ex-j.w. one.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. My fault............. Hubert.

As I read some of the posts, I realized that there were a lot of "apostate" posts in here.
Seeing that the j-dubs are not supposed to read apostate material, and there's a lot in here, would this message board be a good place for the "new recruit" to be able to pick up on anti-j.w. material, which they aren't supposed to read anyway?
Would this be a good place to "recommend a person(s)" to read because of this?

IMPORTANT IDEA! Petition the Society and embaress them for their hubris
by Terry ini may have an important idea!
(beginner's luck).. what if we all (and i mean every last one of us; big numbers of people) wrote a scathing and precise petition or letter of protest (as an open letter) to the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and released it to the press on a slow news day with lots of fanfare?.
we would "call out" the rascals in no uncertain terms citing our grievances (like the founding fathers to george iii) and enumerating our personal suffering under the policies we want changed.. the list would include setting themselves up as little dictators speaking in god's name and issuing papal decrees upon penalty of excommunication.. we could demand apologies for stealing the future of children born to jw families who lose the happiness of childhood through worthless pharisaic adherence to blind rules such as no birthdays, christmas, easter, holidays in general, etc.

Terry, I also agree with what you are saying.
I think what's needed is for some of these ex-j.w. posters to call their local newpapers or contact media reporters and try to get them interested in their stories, and have them put in the papers, or aired on t.v. The problem is, many of these ex-j.w.'s would jepoardise losing their families in the process, so that's where the difficulty arises. Good idea, if you can get enough response.....Hubert.

I think maybe a brochure sent to ALL christendom churches explaining how this cult is undermining all the other religions, and drawing unsuspecting people away from their respected religions, could be the way to go.
I don't think you would get any response from the Watchtower, as all I hear them say when they are confronted is, " The Watchtower officials were not available for comment". Then, it just goes away. No response, no action.
It's easy enough to find where the mainstream churches are, on the internet. Print out brochures and mail it to them. Start a procedure that will pay for the postage, from ex-j.w.'s, on this post, if they are willing to chip in, which I feel they would. I know I will. ... Hubert

I think they are hinting around for a new date for the big "A".
And, I think it has something to do with noah and the flood.... 120 years in the making.
1914 to 2004 = 90 years.
30 more years to go = 2034. That's going to be the new date for the big "A".
They HAVE to give a date. How else will they be able to keep the j.w.'s in line?

Converting JWs to Sanity
by Mr. Jones inthrough clear reasoning with a jehovah's witness, has anyone found it possible to show a jw that they are completly brainwashed members of a cult?
what are the best strategy's or methods of converting a jw back into a clear thinking individual?
any anecdote or insight is welcome.

Welcome, Mr. Jones, from another Newbie.
That's a question that everyone wants an answer to. If only it was that simple.
As for myself, haven't got a clue, but you will get some ideas from other people in this forum, I'm sure. Lots of good advice here, from good people.
One thing for sure, keep the love going between you and the j.w.
Good luck.... Hubert.

Seattle, I found that "Shaun's research on Jehovah's Witnesses" is a good site for a non- j.w. to look up info on the Watchtower. It covers just about everything, and starts from the basics, but is all categorized, so you can skip through it and read what interests you the most. Maybe that site and others can be referred to, when non-j.w.'s ask for info.

Great idea, Terry !! You're a genius !! (But, don't let it go to your head) LOL !!
I feel also that this should be either an ongoing thing, or a two or three date range.
Remember the "Silent lambs" march and protest at Brookline HQ a while back? It unfortunately happened on the same day as a huge war protest march in Washington. Guess who got on the big news channels and papers? You guessed it. You could have had the biggest rally ever, and if it happened on 9/11, no one would have known about it.
I've stayed up late at night just to watch a special news item, when the media said, "story at eleven", only to find that something bigger had happened since the announcement, and the story that I wanted to see never even got shown.
So, you need to find ways of delivering the message on multiple dates, so not to have this disaster happen.
(Just a little advice, hope it makes sense). ... Hubert
