  do you take it personely if you dont get many responses to a new topic?.

  i for one do get miffed if i dont get some replies and i do get upset sniff--- sniff.

  If you look at every post, there is always a last reply to it. If it's you all the time, then maybe there is a problem. LOL !! But, I don't think that's the case. That started to bother me a little, until I looked at what was happening to other posters.

  You'll also notice that some posters who have been here for years, and have thousands of posts, hit on a bad one once in a while. So, don't let it worry you. You'll get better at it, but you'll never be perfect at it. Nobody is. (Well, maybe a few). LOL !

  What makes it all worthwhile, is when you get a positive comment on a post, and realize you can come up with a post that can hopefully help someone, including yourself.

  This forum has massive information on it, and really good people in it to help, and they will bend over backwards to help you, even if you are new at this. So, don't stop posting.

  Another Nigerian Scam.. Watch Out!

  i cashed this check on the 31st or the 1st and the teller had told me the cash would be available immediately because it was a cashiers check and not a normal check.

  What if potential convert sat in back of K.H. and talked w/ shunned j.w.'s?

  i've been hearing a lot about shunned j.w.

  's having to sit in the back of the kingdom halls when they go to meetings.. so, what would happen if a new bible study person went to the kingdom hall for sunday meeting, (or whatever) and sat in the back of the hall, and talked to the shunned j.w.'s?

  also, are there always shunned j.w.

  we have a 1989 buick, that has served us well.

  we know we need a new car (maybe not new but newer) but we just hate the idea of car payments, something we haven't had to have for about 24 years.

  this time we will have to finance a car and just don't want to do it.. so, last week, we took the car in for a tuneup.

  Oh, Mulan, I forgot. Don't do the shocks. Adding that won't bring the price up on the car when you get to sell it. Save your money. Spend it on the next car, instead. (New floor mats, cd player, etc.).

  this time we will have to finance a car and just don't want to do it.. so, last week, we took the car in for a tuneup.

  Mulan, I hope you realize you won't get much for your old car. Dealers won't even want it, I'm sorry to say. You can sell it yourself, but won't get back what you put into it. Get what you can for it, anyway. Sounds like the car rental place might be a good way to go. Try to get a 3 or 6 month warranty on the "new " car, just in case you have major problems with it. I got a 6 month warranty for my 2001 Toyota, and it needed a line-up, and they did it for "O". When I need another vehicle, you know that's the first place I'll go look now.

  Sorry to hear about your car problems, Mulan. If I were closer, I'd let you borrow one of my vehicles, but I'm at least 3 or 4 days drive away from you, and I know at least my truck would never make it.

  Some advice, if you haven't just learned it already. Never, never throw that kind of money into an old car, 8 years or older. I know, because I did the same thing on two old cars, at different times. (Some people never learn) (ME) !! LOL !!

  Because now, it's money thrown away, and you could have used it for a good down payment on a decent car that's 3 or 4 years old, and at least you'd have something for your money.

  I wish you would have wrote this post before you put that kind of money into the old car. I don't mean to knock you. After all, you are the one that's asking for advice. I'm only trying to be helpful.

  Some more advice....Don't buy a new car. It's going to depreciate a thousand bucks as soon as you leave the dealers. Get a car from a REPUTABLE dealer that's 3 or 4 years old. Have your mechanic take it for a test drive. Don't pay what they are asking for it. Dealers will almost always go down on the price, especially if you don't look too excited about the car.

  There, I hope that gets me off the hook a little.

  I just got my wife a nice little 2001 Toyota Corolla, automatic, all the extras, for $7800. We both love it!! Great on gas, too.

  Good luck finding your "dream car".

  Nice picrures, Obervador...

  I've been in this one, for a wedding, a few years ago.

  It smelled musty, but other than that, was well maintained. I heard the reason it's being sold is because of the musty smell, and high ceilings, poor electric, and high maintenance cost.

  What I wasn't told, is it is prime real estate, on a highway, and a strip mall is being built right next to it, and real estate in this area has jumped up 3-fold in the last ten years. So, I figure they can sell it for a huge profit, and they probably have some "donated" land to build a new one on, with their "free labor'.

  That's my guess.

  how sorry i was to hear from dansk-he is going through a very difficult time.. i would like all prayers, thoughts, please keep this in mind ____ for me!!!!.

  the sad news he has cancer.it is lymphoma!!!

  they are waiting on the results of the biopsy before determining treatment..... he didnt want me to say anything at first- as he feels you all have your own problems & he didnt want to upset anyone-because he says "they are dear friends".

  NOSTALGIA TIME !! Anyone remember the old "t.v. westerns" era?

  i was reading the post on "old radio" shows, and it brought to mind the old westerns that flooded the t.v.

  stations back in the 50's.. i remember the first day we had a t.v.

  installed, my sister and i were outside, and saw the "new" antenna on top of our roof, and ran in to watch the "new" black and white t.v., and enjoyed shows like milton berle, howdy doody, and others my memory forgot.
