Asking why I didn't just come to him earlier when he could help.
It's funny that I was asked precisely the same question by a close friend of mine. Amazing how - as active dubs we subconsciously fool ourselves. Not knowing the full truth is supposed to save you from leaving the "Troof".

Stay calm and positive. Hopefully she'll see the WTS vision of "aspostates" is a plain lie.

i really blew it yesterday.
we had just gotten home from a very long day and we were contemplating what to do for dinner and then a knock at the door.
the sister was back with an elder and he asked to speak to my husband...completely got his name wrong.
Oh yeah, JW elders who fail to understand they no longer have control over their former "sheep". Their stupidity is endless. I had one elder call me a week ago or so. He asked if still considered myself a JW. I said I didn't.
He said: "Then you know what the procedure is. You should write a letter od disassociation. "
I said: "Wait a minute. Did you understand what I just said? I don't give a damn about your procedures since I'm no longer a witness. Can you actually understand that?"
He said something like "Sure, but you know we are going to have this CO visit and we'd like to meet you and clarify this case and this would be beneficial both for yourself and the congregation."
I said "My goodness..." and I hung up.
If it had been a face-to-face conversation I would probably get as "psychotic" (a fiend is at it again) as you.

Flyin' - no fear - of course I know it's not true of all or even the majority of Anglo Saxons. I really try to stear clear of stereotypes. Perhaps I should have said "sub-culture".
Neither am I trying to cast a pejorative judgment on farting jokes. LOL - I have better things to ponder over. :) All I'm saying is that on the whole (and general stats are always misrepresenting what individuals feel), the farting motif is quite well attested in A-S jokes and the wide range of euphemisms you have at your disposal to describe this phenomenon. LOL (Somebody - stop me - What am I saying?).

This sentence alone illustrates one of the main reasons why a few of my smart friends have left the WTS. How long can an intelligent person consider such c**p as God-given "spiritual food" if it's taken at face value?
If we always obey Jehoba, we will always praise Jehoba. (Whaat?) What's the cause-effect relationship again?
Here is the trick: This sentence means nothing unless you see through it. The only way you can understand it is by inserting the missing bits of meaning:
If we always obey the WTS, we will be privilleged to keep on praising Jehovah.
Notice that Jehovah is replaced with WTS only where necessary to make the "wandering", but still emotionally crippled dubs understand that the only way to Jehovah leads through the WTS.

It's interesting to realize that generally, many lengthy idioms are very rarely used in their entirety by native speakers in natural contexts (same goes for idiom-like proverbs). Rather, what happens is that bits and pieces of complex idioms get used with the assumption that the rest of the idiom goes without saying.

I thought it's not Poles who specialize in "Polish jokes". Seriously, (or rather "jokingly") I'm terrible at telling jokes. Oh yeah we have naughty jokes. But very few people over here seem to find farting so amusing. This is evident in the sheer number of lexical choices English language users have, some of which were demonstrated on this thread.
Now, let's see if I'm going to be labelled as an anti-Anglo-Saxon fartophobe.

As for the link to the article (http://www.answersingenesis.org/tj/v13/i1/viruses.asp) you have provided - I must honestly say it's one pathetic exercise in setting up a smokescreen and avoiding the real theological question. It is precisely this sort of responses that made me feel realize how much better it is to admit you have no answer at all than to make one up.
The article illustrates how to use scientific and half-scientific information to smuggle understatements based on an unshakeable agenda, some of which go as far as putting the blame on the person who dared ask the question about the existence of pathogenic viruses.
A point in case:
Evidently, inappropriate sexual acts by humans caused the transfer of a lentivirus from a monkey to humans. As long as the HIV lentivirus lived in monkeys, it was not a threat for humans. HIV in monkeys (called SIV), ?appears not to cause disease in most of its natural hosts?, and ?bacteria and viruses that cause disease today may not always have done so?.The same situation also is true of syphilis (apparently from sheep) and many other infectious diseases. Baboons resist being adversely infected by HIV, and for years researchers have been exposing certain animals to the virus without infecting them.
I truly encourage everyone to read the articles you've mentioned. They clearly show intellectual dishonesty at its worst.
