  WHAT DOES THE WORD...."SOON"....MEAN???

  the watchtower magazine has used the word "soon" on many an occasion to point out to its readership how near armageddon really is.. a word that can mean anything, in effect, actually means nothing.

  consequently, let's examine what "soon" actually means by definition and use.. there can only be three stages of time:.

  The frequent use of the word 'soon' throughout WTS literature truly indicates that we are living in the very final part of the end of the last days.
  
  Seriously, I guess you can stretch the meaning of 'soon' to mean anything you like, because like most time expressions there is an underlying spacial metaphor (that's how we conceive of time, most of the time ;@) ). So you can always apply a conceptual magnifying glass to make a seemingly short "distance" look longer.

  My Story: My Current Religious Experience from Birth to the Present

  i don't believe i've said anything about myself here, so here goes.. i was raised a jehovah's witness from birth.

  my family's invovlement in this particular religion began with my great grandmother, a rather lovely woman who lived a long life who made homemade oreos which i had the occasion to enjoy once; she died firm in her beliefs.

  my grandmother was subsequently raised in this religion, although not all of her brothers and sisters were, as far as i can reckon.

  I voted for them out of my fondness for Finland ;-). I guess that's how they got 12 points from Poland.
  
  As an old metal fan I have to authoritatively say these guys are a joke/toung-in-cheek metal band (in case anybody thought they're "real monsters", he, he). At this stage of my mental/emotional development I prefer them to all the rest of the metal stage, though.

  One more thing for all the Brits here complaining about Britain being an island as the reason for not getting enough points.
  
  Let's face it: Your Daz Sampson rapper boy was embarrassingly pathetic with his "Teenage life" song. I litterally blushed when he came on stage performing his cheesy hip-hop masterpiece.

  :Mary was just a very very very imaginative liar, and not only convinced her family and betrothed hubby she was not a "nasty little slut", but carried on with the story so convincingly Little baby Jesus grew up convinced his was the son of god.
