  as the world was presumbly ruined after the flood,nothing was grown etc etc,what did noah eat.. if he have started eating the animals,they would have been none around,so what did noah and co eat to avoid hunger?

  Interesting theory. So, you think these two could have been crossed? Bear in mind that whatever the two ORIGINAL unclean fish were, they were the predecessors of AAAAALLLL the different species of fish we have now, including:

  Croakers, Flounders, Groupers, Jacks, Barracudas, Porgies, Snappers, Snooks, Grunts, Baitfishes, Sharks, Basses, Shads, Catfishes, and many others....

  As for the clean fish and the other clean animals there might have been only one reason why NOah took as many as 7 of them on board. Yes, he could thus eat at least five of each clean species...

  such sad and tragic events for young kids to be caught up in.. which parents dropping their kids off for school would imagine that they would never be seen alive again.

  perhaps final proof that "a hard-line approach" does not work.

  all it does is escalate the violence and inhumanity.

  Stilla, I was listening to BBC News today and they said that Russia is made up of 38 separate entities and they are afraid if they give it to one they will have to give it to others. Sort of letting Texas secede from the US, I guess.

  That's the Russian's argument, but it's largely post-factum reasoning. We've killed hundreds of thousands of Chechnyans over the last 2 centuries, so there must be a good reason for it. But here's the point: Does Texas currently want to gain full independence?. If it had the kind of reasons for seceding that Chechnya has, it would be a home for terrorism like Chechnya is (even if it was more "moderate" ETA-style of terrorism).

  BTW, rather than full independence, what many moderate Chechnyans leaders (Including Maschadov) want now is:

  1) End of Russian Army oppression 2) Some form of autonomy (with real elections)

  I personally believe it's the right of every nation to decide if they want to be independent. Russia is not really the same as the Russian Federation. But I'm Polish, so I maybe I'm just biased by the history of my nation.

  Could the fish have survived considering the fresh/salt water ratio and also considering that the temp. of the the water would have been affected by that much rain??

  There must have survived at least 7 clean fish, and 2 unclean ones.

  ! This is off the record, but I heard from a reliable source that Noahs wife had the job of putting little condoms on all the male mices dingdongs.......it just wasn't mentioned in Genesis cuz it's embarrasin

  in the watchtower, the organization is ruled by a small group of elderly men, the governing body.

  under communism, young people are encouraged to join the "red pioneers".

  I guess, there are 2 things tha could wreak some havoc in the WTS religion:

  1) Going mainstream (less control, more moral freedom, less shunning, diluting fundamentalist doctrines, and basically more members) - this may take dozens of years, although there are some syndroms already

  2) Then, with the standards loosened up, dissent within the borg would have to take place. One or more charismatic, consistent, and cunning leaders on the inside of the system with a considerable support of the common folk would do the trick. From my Polish perspective I would say a WTS Lech Walesa (rather than Ronald Reagan) would be necessary :).

  I mean, this is how most major religions split up. Oppression from the outside tends to unite religious groups and gives them the illusion of being persecuted by the evil forces. On the other hand outside forces could exert pressure on the WTS to change some of its policies and go mainstream, thus contributing to the process.

  As it is the WTS is too small and too oppressive and thus easy to control.Even if half of the Governing Body rebelled, they'd get df-ed by the stronger, thicker-skinned half and quickly replaced by a bunch of newly annointed freaks. So it's all rather wishful thinking for now.

  yes roughly, that is. There is some slight variability (the values are not hardcoded but drawn randomly with a 50% probability). The overall result is something very very close to 50% for boys and 50% for girls.

  for me it's the use of : .

  it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.

  there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

  Here is some evidence showing that I am right and you are wrong (Depending on what you meant to say :)). The rule "double negatives are really affirmatives" was artificially introduced in English - probably by Robert Lowth:

  double negatives drive me nuts

  many have said i speak the 'queen's engilsh', mostly older ones though, as most younger have no idea what it is :)

  From what I remember from my course in the history of English, the "ban" on double negative was an artificial invention of the 18th century prescriptive linguists. So if you really care about being conservative, you might want to reconsider using double negative.
