  mrsjones5 made a good point. If not Judas then Peter or whoever else. The case of Judas makes it clear that the whole concept of OT "prophecies" is flawed.

  With all due respect - if Judas had never been born, then Jesus would never have been crucified in such a way as to fulfill the "prophecies". I think Jesus got this one wrong ;-).

  The death of the Watchtower pre-study

  who is old enough to remember when witnesses used eagerly to meet on a friday or saturday night to "pre-study" the watchtower in groups: reading paragraphs, underlining, reading scriptures (sometimes)?.

  what happened to that, does anyone still do it anywhere?

  i think witnesses are just not as enthusiastic about the "truth" as they used to be.

  Lol. I'm not too old, but old enough to remember that in my country at least. First read the WT on your own, then pre-study, then study, then review and revise. Multiple brainwashing.
  
  I think part of the reason why very few Witnesses would pre-study these days is the decreasing quality of the WT study articles. It's the same stuff on "cultivating loving-kindness" and similarly fascinating topics over and over again. Occasionally there is a "Beware of the voice of strangers" article on apostates, but it's written in such a way that it makes individual JWs to scared to discuss it ;-). The articles I can still remember from the late 1980 and early 1990s at least made a point, however wacky it was.

  The really cool thing is that some of their writers seem to believe in hyper-speed evolution which supposedly took place just after the Flood. I think it was in the 'Insight' book (correct me if I'm wrong) that they suggested that since "the canopy" was removed after the Deluge, there was increased cosmic radiation so that, for example, one "kind" (WT taxonomy) of cats rapidly evolved into all the different species of cats we can observe today.

  I just want to draw your attention to the fact that you've made 8 posts on this thread of which 0 contained any argument that would be remotely relevant to the issue of "fabrication in the Gospels" (if we disregard the one where you make an unsubstantiated appeal to taking a middle-ground view on things). Instead of dealing with Narkissos' original points you chose to criticize his 'secular views' (without giving a specific reason) and then called him 'boring'.
  
  So, could you please try to post something on topic instead of meta-arguing with every second poster and whining about getting attacked ad hominem? Show us your guns baby, or stop pretending you have them or people will get bored with you much faster than you have with Nark.
