some very nice comments. but aint that all just wishful thinking? i mean, all those descriptions sound like flawless, perfect people (flawless/perfect in JW semantics, i think everyone's perfect). especially the "die for" part sounds very romantic, but is it real?

it was not all that bad, i live in a pretty secure area. waters have gone now, there's some cleaning up going on now. i think all the water has gone to vienna by now. but they are prepared for that. -

annoying the JWs

yesterday i saw a couple of witnesses from my local kingdom hall offering out tracts right outside of a church, i knew i had to walk passed them and i didn't want to give them the satisfaction of ignoring me, so just to spite/shock them i walked straight into the church, stayed there for a few minutes then walked back out again.. has anyone ever done anything ridiculous or childish just to annoy them?

What is the bible saying about a soul and a spirit
by jwfacts ini am not sure i believe the bible, but am still trying to come to terms with whether we have a soul or spirit that goes on after death.
i am also interested in seeing how the bible is similar/different than other religions.
i have done research on the web in regards to what the bible says a soul is and get a variety of fairly different and generally not well presented ideas.. as a witness obviously we are taught that we are the only religion teaching truth and our concept differs from virtually all other religions.

exactly. any single opinion that is presented along the lines of "the bible says ..." or "what the bible really teaches" is selective.
the witnesses are so focussed on the door-to-door advertising, as they point out that particular verse as most important. you can ask them, if everything jesus said has to be done? if they say yes... tell em to sell their house and give the money to the poor. that's what jesus said... -

Where to find the "complete" bible
by sinis ini have been looking at some different sites and doing my own research regarding the modern day bible.
it becomes appearent that the catholic church had a huge say in what cannons were adopted and the ones which were not.
does anyone know where i can get a bible that would include the original texts that the jews considered to be sacred?

"apocrypha" would be a good keyword for the search engines too. or "deuterocanonica".
