  what is the definition of a christian?

  doesnt it mean a follower of christ.....a man?

  arent "we" supposed to be followers of god and not man?

  That seems a bit contradictory. Is he dead or is he alive in heaven? If he's alive then why can't you pray to him just as you would to God? It really doesn't seem that difficult. Sure it might be a leap of faith, to some, but the concept isn't complex...

  little toe: yes, i am confused......i guess i am not expressing myself to clearly.....i guess i really want to know is why are jws called christian when they really claim to worship god and not jesus.....and since jesus is not really jesus, but michael.....then jesus isnt really the mediator is he? so what is a god worshipper called, a theist?

  hey!!!

  i know how opinionated you all are so dont kill me....just wanted to bring up an interesting thought i had.....not that this necessarily shows my beliefs, but in an effort to still try to find myself and discover the truth, it is something i have been pondering for quite some time now.....

  so, if the only law we need to follow is to show love to one another.....

  For example, JWs believe they are showing "love" when they shun us. I doubt that any of us would agree on that point.

  very good question sinis:

  i havent made up my mind yet on this topic.....i vacillate constantly between atheist, mystical, and christian beliefs all the time....

  i find this site a place of comfort and so i present issues that i may not be able to anywhere else.....u cant go and talk to ppl even my best friend who were never witnesses and have them be able to understand....

  Um....dont quite understand why you are laughing....there are extremely intelligent thinking ppl on this site.....keep reading and posting, you will learn lots of new things.....

  And, dont know how long you will be in good standing while you visit this site......or is that something you are keeping a secret....

  But, anyways.....have fun, maybe we will welcome you on the outseide one day......

Doesnt that make all the other little "rules" void? or not necessarily void but "love" encompasses so many things that it would inevitably encompass some of these like, say the 10 commandments....(not saying that 10 commandments are little, just an example)....just saying that if u r showing love at all times u r not going to be jealous, full of rage, hating, etc, etc..... As long as a person is not hurting someone else, then it wouldnt matter if someone is gay, or has many sexual partners, so on and so on..... Ok, now, so be gentle..... Sin

  My Story: My Current Religious Experience from Birth to the Present

  i don't believe i've said anything about myself here, so here goes.. i was raised a jehovah's witness from birth.

  my family's invovlement in this particular religion began with my great grandmother, a rather lovely woman who lived a long life who made homemade oreos which i had the occasion to enjoy once; she died firm in her beliefs.

  my grandmother was subsequently raised in this religion, although not all of her brothers and sisters were, as far as i can reckon.

  "So I became disillusioned, disbelieved in God, depressed, then theistic again. I swear I went through these cycles at least once a month." in response to the above--- i, too, went thru this, but the difference is, i am still going thru it.....educating myself has made the emotional rollercoaster lessen now....so instead of every other month, its more like every 3 months....lol anyway, thank you for sharing ur story....hearing things like this continually help me to heal....i am 5 years out and i still struggle between guilt for not staying in and happiness for leaving.... sin

  for some, like me, makes u feel like u r a part of something....u feel important, ppl are nice, u almost immediately have lots of friends.....i can honestly say that a few were truly my friends, even trying to contact me for sheer conversation after i left

  my mom says that the organization is for those who have severe emotional problems....i used to disagree even as a df'd person, but now i seem to be agreeing more and more with her
