  Let's take being a JW as an example.
  
  On the outside the Org looks to be one way, on the inside it is another.
  Once you are IN ... the mindset is self-confirming and rules out EVERY other source of information.
  Then too, you are taught how to REFUTE even good sounding arguments and absolutely to avoid EX-Jdubs. (We know why).
  
  (I keep that in mind when I'm warned away from certain commentators.
  I see for myself and make up my own mind (often requiring research).
  
  If you leave the Org you can become so upset and biased it becomes impossible to see any aspect of the fellowship as having value at any time. Or, you might remain friendly, kind, and reasonable in your attempts at dialogue.

  the frivolous, the liars, the clueless
  as well as:
  genuine fact finding.
  So many YouTube channels peddle POV analysis. And many, if not most, are simply crap.
  There ARE good ones. Ya gotta search.

  I think my only point (perhaps buried in the details) is that Public Opinion (and look at it here - we all have such opinions) comes NOT from standing there on the ground - but - from some "news" source.
  When we find ourselves being prodded to FEEL strong urging toward WAR by that media -- it is time to dig our heels in and wake up to the fact we have constantly been MISINFORMED on purpose.
  
  We were assured of the presence of Weapons of Mass Destruction in Saddam's arsenal. Where are they? Still in the C.I.A. Defense Department Propaganda imagination.
  
  Ask yourself why it's okay to barge into another country and topple elected leaders.
  "Hi, I'm from the C.I.A. and we are going to tamper with your entire way of life FOR YOUR OWN GOOD."
  
  Maybe we just don't remember that the Noble Peace Prize winning President Obama ran out of bombs to drop!

  NAMED SOURCES.
  
  It's not necessary to go down any Rabbit Hole. There are plenty of internet Conspiracy Nuts.
  
  Check out Freedom of Information Act published documents.
  
  The entire history of covert intelligence consists of bald-faced lies, assertions, disinformation, leaks, black-ops, and DENIAL.
  These people lie to Congress on T.V. and get caught lying -- but nobody has the will (or the power) to do anything by way of holding people accountable.
