World War 1 and 1914

how did it just so happen that a world war took place in the very year that russell had attached so much importance to?
i realize that he expected 1914 to see the end of the world's governments, and of course that didn't happen, but it still seems to be quite remarkable that this war happened that very year ... a war that would later be construed to be the fulfillment of jesus' prediction in matthew 24:7.. the explanation given on the e-watchman site is that satan deliberately caused the war to happen so as to mislead jehovah's witnesses into thinking they had actually seen the fulfillment of bible prophecy, in order to make them think that jesus had returned invisably.. any ideas?.

Okay I as a student of bible and true Christianity wish to know following points ,and I would be grateful if you explain my questions as understood by you .
- Do you say that the ALL THINGS to which Russell attached importance are supposed to be investigated with DEEP IMPORTANCE .,if you say not all then please explain ..WHY NOT ALL..is it this that YOU consider THINGS of Russell so that you treat His words FULFILLING BIBLE WHILE OTHERS NOT ? how does this happen ?
- You say " he expected 1914 to see the end of the world’s governments " ..i wish to ask you is it not important for you to consider what other important EXPECTATIONS Russell HAD ?specially regarding end of worldly governments ? do you consider other expectations of Russell similarly as you consider 1914 ?
- Further you say schzism that -"World War 1, happening in 1914, was significant enough to make them think that Matthew 24:7 was being fulfilled because "war" was part of the "sign". "

i am waiting to learn about bible and what is the meaning of "friendship of the world "......if you can kindly respond to that ...i am ready to learn more about what was so great about Russell among many preachers that came and went....., And what was so different about WW1 from other wars ..before anf after it .

oh jgnat ...call it power of passion ,my dedication to make my soulmate happy made me give my best , and right now i can assure you that i can discuss almost every of WTS beleif about bible and let them see they are nothing but exploiters, the only thing that hurts me is the impact of control of mind that they do ,where i find myself almost fully on mercy of my god and my lord, the way innocent lives are imprisoned and chained away from small sweet moments of happiness of life by WTBTS exploiting the holy book of bible moved my heart.
even before i set to study bible, i was sure that bible can never be so cruel as portrayed by WTS, and i gave my all to kow it , and to share it with my soulmate.
well as for my background, i wish to tell you that english was never my native language, i was brought up in society where WTS and their christianity are almost unheared of.

I again meditated on your confusions you posted….
I would like to share with you …following points with respect to Definition of "world ".
- It depends on how you define what constitutes the world as indicated in bible ?
- bible’s world spoken is constituted of greedy people,filthy rich people who don’t spend money for welfare of poor ones, those who are involve in immoral activities , those who are in the politics that is killing people instead of making all peopple’s welfare .
I clearly see that there is no black and white distinction for world as far as bible’s definition is concerned, many political people were serving people ‘s genuine interests …just one for example ….."Nelson Mandela against Apartheid of South Africa " …..and there are no doubt that many are bad politicians; it for individual to judge and act conscientiously , as is NOW rightly spoken with the help of timely NEW LIGHT by watchtower ..Participation in politics is conscientious decision..
- Following the words and conduct of Son of god jesus , all true Christians are bound to follow his advice to follow matthew 4:23 --healing all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease among the people , if any person claims himself to be true Christian and neglects HEALING WORKS ….i am sure any follower will be guilty of being GOAT . from book of Matthew

Whom would you follow schzism , will you be the sheep and perform the serving and healing works , or would you like to be a goat by not performing what is desired by son of god .would you spend preaching mere words , like Pharisees , or would you like to follow jesus .
PS – no one pleases father by rejecting the son, and no one reaches father except through SON.
- well schzism you talked a lot about SERVING Army and military and how they can afford to consider themselves to be away from the world , am I right ? .. I clearly see that all depends a lot in our conscientious decisions, a well conscientious soldier does much more good to society and cause of righteousness than the one PREACHING mere words , am I wrong ?
I see it in the words of son of our god jesus when he said …these for those who make PEACE ….
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peace-makers: for they shall be called children of God.
I understand the regard Jesus speaks about for those who are responsible and working hard in alien conditions to establish Peace.
Yes again I agree that most of military campaigns are for lusts of power of mad leaders. Thus it is right to make a person conscientious, rather than condemning all as equal , neglecting advise and conduct of son of god .
A true Christian who IF in army will serve with conscience, and work to establish Peace and cause of righteousness, and let us work to make the conscience of soldiers so much strong that they refuse to carry out unjustified orders of their leaders .
I didn’t under stand schzism , how you understand that playinf in football team or tennis ,or volleyball team , how do you understand that the every team member is full of sins and are part of bad habits which bible says are worldly , how can anybody by merely playing becomes FRIEND of world, I feel by taking example to extreme that by playing with any team will make us sinner , it is just attempt to promote ALIENATION ..!!

the fact is this that me and my loved one both agreed to ONE thing ...we follow true christianity ..and that is contained in bible , if any person or any organisation ...follows the bible ..that is okay and we can associate , the point was and still is and always will ...is this that the association is liited till the bible's spirit is followed.....though we didn't stated it in explicit terms...but it was obvious to me and to her that if at any time bible is neglected by anybody ...be it our WTBTS or ..Gov body .......our is not the way to accept , we are only approving those things which are supported by bible, and rest i feel you know better that what happens to the sweet and loving attitude of any of our WTBTS follower when we say that any of their ways is not according to BIBLE . your words say it all when u tell me " they are told to shun own children for association with world " ....i wonder how in the world they will face son of god , and if they cannot stand befre the SON , how will they ever be eligible to face the FATHER !!!!
there is lot of illusions some people create in the initial stages( by exploiting ones who are in pain for some reason in life ) to make new learners accept their view as truth , but i was not to be , i have placed bible above them.

i wish to share this with you ...that anybody who is called a true christian means how closley he or she follows the examples that were set for conduct by bible , and in the bible above all by jesus christ because he was son of god , knowing the will of father much much better than other prophets....do u disagree ...?
and with regard to that .......when u say - "a true Christian isn't interested in becoming intimate friends with those who have exhibited no interest in becoming a Christian themselves "
i wish to ask you , what should a true christian do if he sees advise of bible telling to be intimately helping and sharing the sorrows and help the world , like we do to our brothers ... ?
will you suggest that any body who calls himself to be christian to be can he afford to reject or even neglect the advise of son of god jesus christ .....plz tell me especially considering the book of matthews . ?
i totally disagree with what you say ...------" a christian time is more valuable " .....

hi there ..
i am a newbie.....and i wish say hello to all in this forum,
for all i would also like to tell that , i am in love, with a sweet and kind soul , who happen to be jehovahs witnesses. As expected i am also a bible study with a JW , so that i learn the truest religion of the world , for which my sweet love is ready to happily give her life .
i came from easten ,asian country and prior to meeting my soulmate i had not much knowledge about christianity , more than , that jesus was very kind and loving guide to the world .
but position has changed in past 7-8 months i had learnt.
any way about ..........'friendship with the world'
i want to say to you friend that for all confusions......when bible's advice is concerned.....
i know one thing well established in bible as i have seen( though i am open to correction alwasy!!)
son of god jesus christ is above all others concerned in the bible , all prophets and others , because son knew the will of the father Jehovah much above the other prophets.
and that .....it is sufficient to read book of matthews to understand that - love thy neighbour - commandment is must requiement for all true christians- which obviously includes friendships with world- world ly to jesus means one who is greedy , fornicator, murdered and other bad practicing people , not everything except WT & BTS , as their literature wants us to .
