  a month ago i was reinstated as a jehovah’s witness.

  he was not disfellowshipped.

  in my meeting i was told that i could not become involved with the man that i committed a sin with, which is adultery once i’m reinstated.

  this is not an all-encompassing law and has been introduced at the moment only in the state of maharashtra.

  the prohibition of people from social boycott (prevention, prohibition, and redressal) act 2016 makes social boycott in the name of religion a criminal offence.

  Kids being disfellowshipped

  so some ex-jws and i were at dinner last night talking about how some of the ones baptized this year were so young.

  a few under the age of 10!!

  can you imagine if a kid got dfd at that age.... would the congregation shun them?

  the longer i’m out the more i feel that disfellowshipping is cruel.

  i understand the organization tells parents to not even accept emails or texts from their disfellowshipped children.

  while i was a witness they tried to discourage families from association but there was some leeway if it was considered necessary business to interact.
