Confucious, I may be young but I understand what you are going through. Just reading your post pissed me off! We're all an online family here so when one hurts we all hurt. Anyways, me personaly, an old best friend of mine has suddenly become 'oh so spiritual' herself. She was actually engaged to a wordly guy for 4 years and after me and her somewhat rekindled our friendship (unrelated case) I found out that she confessed to her parents everything (last I heard her father wanted to set up a judicial meeting also) and she also got baptized at this year's convention. all of a sudden she wants to preach to me about me still dating wordly men, lying to my folks and how I need to clean up my act (not in so many words) It takes all of my might not to tell her everything I know about this cult and help her open her eyes and also let her know that just b/c she confessed all her dirt and got baptized don't mean she's ms. holy. But that would only cause serious problems right? So I'm not saying to ignore her but at the same time don't let your anger provoke you to say something that could get you in trouble. If she continues then tell her straight from what from the bible that she need to stop judging you. and you know what? I've been seen in places I shouldn't of been but hey most of the time I deny it. Unless she's got her 2 wittnesses then she aint got nothin on ya.

MY PARENTS DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS MY B-DAY (I DON'T THINK THEY EVEN REMEBRED) AND I EVEN HAD TO GO OUT IN SERVICE (UGH) AN EXJW ONLINE BUDDY OF MINE GAVE ME THE IDEA TO JUST GET EVERY ONLINE BUDDY I KNOW TO SEND ME AN E-CARD SO I THOUGHT WHAT THE HECK! o.k as you all know we are studying the draw close to god book and in chapter 15: "jesus sets justice in the earth" read paragraph 10 on page 152 and tell me if you do not see a correlation: (and i quote)

I just stumbled on something at the bookstudy last week! O.K as you all know we are studying the Draw Close To God book and in chapter 15: "Jesus Sets Justice in the Earth" read paragraph 10 on page 152 and tell me if you do not see a correlation: (and i quote)
" The religious leaders buried God's Law under a mass of man-made rules and regualtions. The sabbath Law, for instance, simpy forbade work on the Sabbath, setting that day aside for worship...But the Parisees made a burden of the law. They took it upon themselves to decide just what "work" meant. They labeled as work 39 different activities, such as reaping or hunting. These categories gave rise to endless questions. If a man killed a flea on the Sabbath, was he hunting? If he plcuked a handful of grain to eat as he walked along was he reaping?..Such questions were addressed with rigid, detailed rules."
HELLLOOO??? Was I the only one in the bookstudy who actually read the paragraph clearly? Who do you know with rigid detailed rules for every little thing that they can come up with? Who do you know causes people to call in the branch offices and elders with ridiculous questions b/c they can't think for themselves? For example we all have heard the scripture in John 2:15-17 concerning dress and grooming: It should be modest, no external braiding of the hair (whatever that means) no excess of jewelry etcBut notice that the scripture isn't some 30-page rule book on what to wear and not to wear. God left it up to us. That's why he did not create us as robots.-Romans 15:4b: "Let each man be convinced in his own mind." But where in the Bible is the scripture about a skirt is to be at least 3 inches below the knee, no beards, no excessive hair coloring (do you really think Jehovah cares if i put in some blue highlights in my hair for a night on the town?) The society has taken it upon themselves to be the sole rule maker in every little thing that you can imagine and misinterpreting scriptures to back up their claims. Proof of this is in the watchtower volume indexes. There are hundreds and hundreds of ridiculous topics from credit crads, mobile phones, tattoos, college even masturbation (which if was such a sin would of been clearly included in the bible right?) THEY HAVE GONE BEYOND THE LAW JUST LIKE THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES OF JESUS' DAY! And what did Jesus say people: "You make the word of God invalid by your tradition which you handed down." -Mark 17:3 Oh and guess what else I found : There is a topic in the index on hunting and there was a "Questions Readers Ask " section on it about wether this activity is appropriate for a christian or not! I thinking I am starting to be able to de-brainwash myself all on my own! it's a cool feeling

My Mother's Being Announced in November As OFF The Pioneer List

conversation she was going to be announced as no longer pioneering.

THAT IS TERRIBLE! After my mom could not be a reagular pioneer anymore (i was still young ) I think that is when she became depressed. the society has ways of making you feel inadequate and small! makes me soooo angry!

Remembering Halloween As A JW Kid . . .

Yeah I knew a lot of wittnesses who put tracts in the trick or treat bags. well we had the bookstudy at out house for a good 8 years and halloween always seemed to fall on thursday night bookstudy every couple years and so the kinds in my neighborhood would purposely come to our door and knock screaming : "we know your all in there! we see the cars outside! open up!" till one of the brothers would finally open it up whcih would of course interupt the study. I couldn't help but laugh!

Its bad enough that I almost had to go to some remedial trade school in order to "better spend my time in Jehovah's organization" but now what is it? I know this dumb video is gonna give my parents ideas about what I should be doing with my youth. I remeber one summer her and some fanatical pioneer sister acutally suggested I fly to Virginia with her and auxiliary pioneer the whole entire summer! ( I faked like I had strep throat to get out of it.) Anyway, what is up with that title anyway? Anyone has any better ideas for what the title should of been? Maybe 101 WAYS ON HOW TO WASTE YOU YOUTH AS A JW?
