whilst agreeing with your ideals (and I plan a web site when I've found my niche), you must remember that witnesses (as we did once) relish so called persecution and anything which they class as apostacy is seen as proof that they are the true religion. They say they base this on the bible but fail to notice that certain other groups are hated or disliked for reasons not mentioned in the bible.

If you had the money what you do ...
by sleepy inif you had the money what you do warn people of the "truth".
i was thinking while on holiday of what money could accomplish in helping and educating people about the "truth".. i though maybe an half page advert in the national newspapers , as witness would find it hard to resist reading it if they didn't know it was there before hand , maybe one every few week on a different subject.. so in the first one it would read,.
attention jehovahs witnesses ,.

You Know a Spiritual Coward
by AlanF inhere is another unequivocal example of a claim of direct inspiration: in the olin moyle court case of 1943, fred franz said under oath that no man is the editor of the watchtower.
who, then, is the editor?
who became the editor?

All the proof you need is to grow up in the watchtower. "You Know" that all your spiritual food is coming from Jehovah.

Life after death.
by ballistic insince leaving my life as a jw, i have often wondered about life after death, and have come to the conclusion that it is highly improbable that man was given life in order to conemplate what happens after death.
also, i have never seen any evidence for life after death.
what i do see is that when one is severely brain damaged, it reduces a capable and dignifyed human into a block of chemical reactions within a combination of material substances.

I felt of leaving here once. I think when you have to regard it as "leaving" and saying goodbye, it's a sure sign you're taking this place too seriously anyway.
ok, so there are serious subjects; you only have to read some peoples srories or read my profile. But one has to ask whether this web site is your HOME PAGE or your VIRTUAL HOME??? -

Another new question to ponder:
by ballistic inwhat exactly will the 144,000 heirs to the heavenly kingdom be required for?
to rule?
what, rule over just 6 million perfect humans?

What exactly will the 144,000 heirs to the heavenly kingdom be required for? To rule? What, rule over just 6 million PERFECT humans? Not only will thier subjects be perfect, but they all live in PERFECT harmony and union, both with each other and nature.
I can't see why God needs rulers from earth when he has myriads of angels who could quite easily cope. I can't see why God needs ANYTHING. He is omnipotent, capable of ruling by himself. And in any case, why does it depend on WHEN you are born as to which "class" you belong to? Surely this is not an idea of an impartial God? -

Biography in profiles
by Simon inmany thanks to stephanus for getting this started and all the hard work putting together the 'whos who' site.. i've added an additional box to the profile page where you can enter a short biography (plain text - no formatting yet).
this is displayed when people click on your profile link (the 'membership card' icon under you poster name).
i will add a link to the member listing page to indicate people who have biographies with a link to display them.. let me know if you have any problems.
