i, damselfly, can not knowingly eat the little squiggly, umbilical cord things in eggs.
i have to very carefully separate the whites from the yolk and remove the squiggly bits with a knife.
i get gaggy just thinking about them.
i cant stand long eyebrows so i pluck mine..but not usually with tweezers..with my fingers..problem is i dont get the right one first time so i end up pulling out half a dozen and then it looks awful
Tijkmo: I've got that quirk too. Except when I pull the eyebrow hair out, then I bite it in half, then eat it. I've got some bald patches in my brows. Very quirky.
I believe abortion should be illegal. I can think of no justification to kill an unborn child, whether it is conscious of its existence or not. Everyone would agree that killing a baby a day before or a day after it is born is wrong. It is impossible to draw an exact line of when its ok to kill that child, so pregnancies should never be intentionally terminated while the child is alive. Even if the mother faces health risks, there is no risk greater than the certain death of the child.
That being said, I understand that I am a man and this is a very complicated issue mainly affecting women.
i know very few people who have been successfully married where 1 spouse is a witness and the other is not.
i know there are a few examples on this board.. a couple that i know irl have split after nearly 25 years of marriage because of the stupid shunning shit.
one of their 3 children got df'd 6 months ago and that is when everything fell apart apparently.
I've been commenting on this forum for a bit regarding my relationship with my jw wife. We are now officially separated after 5 years of marriage. We've had various problems, but what ultimately convinced me that the marriage was hopeless was her devotion to the organization. I know that I will never be a jw and I have no reason to believe that she will ever quit. IN the meantime, I am through being the financial support for her to waste hours on end with the meetings, magazines, and all her jw friends. All of which would be fine with me, except it makes for a shitty marriage.
Amazingly, she absolutely refuses to acknowledge that her being a jw has anything to do with the marriage problems. She just thinks I'm leaving so I can participate in drunken orgies.
Typical jw bullshit. They're good and everyone else is bad. I can't live with it anymore.
I bet she'd do the same thing if it happened again. But if you don't want to rat out your boyz, you should ignore the subpoena. You only get 6 months for contempt of court.

Even if there are things that you don't like that the WTS has done, the truth is still taught by Jehovah's people, his Witnesses. So yes you should stick to the truth, that which is found and taught by Jehovah Witnesses.
In light of what I wrote (which apparently people don't get the point), Jehovah's Witnesses are not claimin that they can do no wrong.
As I said, It is a non-issue.

when i joined the religion, i didn't read apostate information at all.
once i left, i read a ton.
It seems to be most effective for those who already have doubts. My wife won't even consider the stuff cause she's up to her eyeballs in the "truth."
I doubt the people who get sucked into the bible studies and love bombing bother to research the apostate stuff before they join.

while reading through some threads, i sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if i had stayed a jw and had kids.
i now have a 23 month old son, that's very active, i can not begin to imagine what torture it would be for both of us to attend meetings or go out in field service.
i would be expected to keep him still the whole time without toys, snacks, books or any sort of distraction at all, except maybe the my book of bible stories.
This is one of the truest saddest threads.

At some conventions, there continues to be a problem with many brothers and sisters and even young children milling about in the corridors during the sessions. Attendants will be instructed to ask such ones to return to the auditorium.
You've gotta be kidding me! I wouldn't last 5 minutes at one of these things. No wonder my wife was so grumpy after 3 days of PRISON. In fact, my 8 yr. old step daughter used that exact analogy.
