I'm soooooo cold!

another polar air day, and way too much grey.

i'm tired of being inside and my son is sick again with a virus, by the time i leave to workout it's dark outside and even colder than earlier....ooooohhhhh i just want to stay under my covers until spring..... anyone else out there surviving this cold???

For those of us with active JW parents

there seem to a commonality around here about active jw parents shunning us.. my question is: if your parents weren't a jw, do you think they would be normal, act kindly, be a real parent to you?

or would they still be cold and callused towards you, controlling, etc.

my thought is this, so many times i used to think i wish my mom wasn't a jw because then i thought she would be this wonderful caring mother that i could go to lunch with, share shopping days with, recipes, and we'd be close.

I think my Mom would be different....but not just with me but her whole life! Less stressed and less depressed!

I only stopped going to meetings a little while ago...I have not done anything wrong .....and she still speaks with me not as much but thats for other reasons! We are somewhat close but not that close. I wished we were. I have always come 2nd to my sister because I am more independent and she is not. There is so many issues with my relationship with my sister. I love her but I don't like her!

My Dad has left and re-married he would have never shunned me if he was still in. And as I with him.

death of a friends child; funeral obligation

a friend of mine just lost his young 4 year son in a sleigh accident.

the child ( the same age as my young caroline) sledded down the front hill of his property into the path of an on coming school bus.

terrible tragedy.. my wife and i ; who have known them for some time; must attend the service this eveing.

I also feel horrible for your friends....Life is so precious...and yet to quick in some cases. Its not fair that a beautiful chid has been taken.

There is no words...no cliche if you will at this moment that anyone can give to comfort those who are at a loss.

However being there and giving yourself as support is the only thing I can think of that they need.

where are my madison peeps?

hello, i'm new to the madison wi area and would like to meet some ex-jdubs in the area, i'm 24 yrs old.

people relativly my age would be nice but any age is cool.

i just moved from milwaukee and all my friend there are ex-jw's, we are all pretty close about 10 of us or so and am looking for the same kind of bonds where i am now, there is nothing like having people in your life who know exactly what you went through in life.
