I have not been a very active poster lately [have you missed me?]. There has been plenty of drama in my life the last few weeks, and my time has been absorbed by it.
My grandma is seriously ill, and has but a few more months to live. My grandma [and my mum] are also both JW, and I am DFd. Now, that has never been a problem for them, our relation has been as close since I was DFd as it was before, which is very close.
But they are still JW, which means that I am being confronted on a regular basis with the witnesses and elders. Its is giving me the chills. My grandma is arranging her own funeral, and naturally, she wants a lecture in the Hall.
Now here is my dilemma:
The elders have graciously decided that I need to sit in the back during the lecture. Now, personally, I resent doing that, it would mean acknowledging their authority and I will not do that. So, I suggested to my family that we all just walk in, walk to the front, and sit down. They back me up on that one. But now here is my question, what will the elders do with that? Will they simply accept it, or will they come up to me and ask me to move. Or will they even refuse to begin, if Im up front? What do you all think?

The term 'apostate' - how do you feel about it?
by ballistic ini know the answer may depend on your religious views now, but how do you feel about the term "apostate".
if you are of an atheist / agnostic view since leaving the org, do you still feel a stigma attached to the word apostate or has the word completely lost it's significance.
if you have moved on to another religion, do you still believe in the concept of a 'true apostate' and would you therefore find the term offensive?

STDs...Divine Retribution?
by ISP inplaying the field .
the sexual habits of ladybirds could shed light on the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in human populations.
although sexually transmitted diseases (stds) are very common among animals and humans, we actually know very little about how they spread in populations," says dr robert knell at the school of biological sciences at queen mary and westfield college in london.

How many Rumors have you ever started?
by orangefatcat inah rumors!
yes that delightful word, any story or a statement made without any proof that it is true.
how many of us have actually have started these little rumors?

Well, I have been the subject of a nasty rumour.
A brother in my congregation had had an car-accident. He ended up in a wheelchair, and couldn't speak very well anymore either. Now, this brother was desperate to find himself a wife. So he went after every sister in the cong. And he was quit annoying with it too, he'd block your way with that wheelchair of his, call your attention right across the Hall. It was very annoying, up to the point where you could call it stalking.
Anyway, I became the object of his affection. YUK!!! And to make all matters worse, some sister had seen him "walking" after me, and had started the rumour that I actually had some interest in him. And so, I was the object of some nasty gossiping, I found out about it when my best friend asked me if it was true. I sat it out, cause rumours die their own death.

Eglishman, where did the sexy cat go???
I am afraid I have a boring mobile phone, it plays no significant tune, just bleep-bleep. Blah!
It would be cool to have it play "Jaded" by Aerosmith.
