Reporting Time

i read on another post that something new was started at the last elder's meeting about "turning in time" or "getting time in".anybody know what it is?

When I started going door to door, an elder explained to me how the system worked. He said "Jehovah wants you to tell us how many hours you put in". Honestly, even at the time I found that statement ridiculous, So I raised my eyebrows and said "where in the bible does it say _that_?". So the brother took it back and said that it was the Governing Board that wanted the figures, so that they could see the progress of the area we live in, so that enough books can be produced etc. Stupid me, I said "okay" and obediently handed in my time at the end of every month.
Sometimes however, Id forget, and sure enough, I would get a call, or would be asked at a meeting to fill in my report. Annoying.

The Compulsion to Confess

i have been a compulsive confessor.

do you think its a dub thing?

ive been to elders numerous times about things.

I confessed. First because I honestly believed the Borg was guided by God. And if so, the elders would help me when I had sinned. I can relate to the feeling that a watchtower article or a speech, was directly addressed to me. The guilt was immense and when I told, I did feel better, for a short while. The constant pressure of not being good enough, thinking back on it, it was sickening.
At the end, when my faith was gone, I still confessed, but with an attitude, daring them to disfellowship me. And what do you know... they did...

Tell me what you did on the doors?

me and my pioneer partner used to play a game while going door to door (we were obviously bored).

in our rural territory, we had a lot of time between doors to make things up, so various games evolved.

just about the naughtiest was to give your partner a word which they had to use at all costs in their presentation.. this started out as 'kingdom' and 'jesus' but soon became 'tractor', 'dog' and then even 'honda 250' and so on.

I remember thinking to myself that I'd love to help out, but dammit, I'm on my break over here!

LOL, Joe, that is just too funny!
I personally hated going door to door. I went regular with my best friend, we would go for an hour fieldservice and then hit the mall for shopping, or a restaurant, drink tea, whatever. Then some five hours later we would go home were people were baffled at us, haha. I miss her.

I miss my friends. Sometimes it hurts so much I can hardly breath, then I will cry my eyes out for a moment when I think about my best friend. She, btw, is pregnant and due any minute. I have been disfellowhipped last February, and before that, I had gotten her presents, that I hadn't given to her yet. And so now, I have all these baby presents, for her, and she won't even talk to me.
O god, now I am crying again. Gotta stop.
