GHOST CAR!
by BrendaCloutier inlouisiana ghost story!!!.
this happened just outside of cocodrie, a little town in the bayou country of louisiana, it sounds like it could be an alfred hitchcock tale, i really don't know if it is true.
this out of state traveler was on the side of the road, hitchhiking on a real dark night in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Hypocrite Elder Gets Df'd
by Dragonlady76 inthere was a very well respected elder in my cong that i will call mr. r. this elder was a very zealous and pious jw and the po.
mr. r was of cuban descent and had extremely conservative veiws.
mr. r being the upstanding jw and elder had a very attractive wife and two cute kids.

Ok don't ban me after I say this but, I actually grew up in the congregation of a pretty nice elder. He never really did any hypocritical things that I know of (behind closed doors maybe) but never really heard anything bad about him EXCEPT for the fact that
1. His oldest son married a dub sister and very shortly after that the son got df'd...Don't know for what but (just an assumption) I know son and wifey lost alot of weight quickly (stapled stomach) and he probably became more handsome in other people's eyes besides his wife so he started playing the field...
2. Daughter was reproved (not sure if public or private) right before her marriage to dub brother /my assumption is that it probably was for playing hanky panky before marriage.
3. Youngest son robbed a bank and is now doing some time for it. Oh yeah he's df'd too.
But this elder was always a close friend of the family (probably why i still liked him until recently) and I was around his family and spent the night at his house alot. But like I mentioned until recently when he made a few comments I didn't appreciate. When my dad was trying to "strongly" encourage me to come back to the KH this elder and another elder had a brief meeting with me to see "where my head was" i guess....and when i told him I pray to God all the time he asked me, "What God is that?" and I looked at him real stupidly and he said, " I'm not being sarcastic, but so many "worldly" people pray to false gods." and he also got a shock when he tried to use the "JW's are the ONLY ones that go door-to-door" and I told him my church goes street witnessing also.....
But even tho he's trapped in the dub world, I still think he's a pretty ok dude.

I was called by a JW wanting a favor...
by Dawn inyep - you read that right.. i had a message on my answering machine - a jw i used to know long ago, left a message, wanting me to help out with some legal matters (i have worked for the criminal justice system for about 15 yrs now).. my husband just about had a cow - here's someone who wouldn't talk to me at the grocery store, but has no problem talking to me if they need something?
i thought to myself, could this person really be that nieve about human social situations - ie: if you're going to be mean to someone, don't expect a favor from them .
ok ok, i know - i should show more christian attitude, turn the other cheek, and call this person back.

One minute they are falling out with the lawyers, next minute they want more of them. I can't keep up!!!
slimboy maybe if you take just a second to actually read the thread instead of just inserting your ummm, half a cent, you might see whats going on. But let me see if i can tell you in slimboy terms.
The WBTS is LOSING THEIR CONTROL over the lawyers they presently have therefore the thread about WBTS falling out with lawyers, soooooo they are trying to recruit fresh NEW lawyers to PROGRAM/BRAINWASH them with their ideas and propaganda. And they need them ASAP because of all the court cases that are pending against them that used to be just thrown out but are now finally being heard in court.....
If that doesnt help you out any with your trying to keep up, maybe someone else on here can explain it better

My quote from another thread because I couldnt find this one at first,"
how are they asking for new lawyers within the organization when they look down on ones that go to college in the first place? So I can ask another question are these JW lawyers spiritually weak in the first place, or were they once a part of the "world" and became a JW and can still use their lawyer skills to be a dubbie wolf in sheep clothing lawyer?
Now that I've found this thread, there were so many excellant points made that i wanted copy and comment on. Its amazing to see how they ban or rather discourage so many things but later on down the line they see they need them themselves.
This discouragement to not go to college is the reason that I'm going so late in life. Not bragging or anything but I graduated high school #7 out of a class of 88 (not many I know), but i had a 3.57gpa and was sent letters by so many colleges. You think my dad, who got upset if i brought home a C, ever said pick the college of your choice darling??? No it was, "when you finish high school, you can regular pioneer with your house-cleaning all her life step-mom".....
And now they ask for people that has to go to college to become a lawyer. IMHO alot of people at these meetings when the announcement was read or read it for themselves at home, probably are all telling their children thats about to graduate high school or soon to be graduates, " Wow, Bethel needs lawyers, that means that its ok if you go to college, but they only need lawyers so you have to become a lawyer"
Ok I'm finished ranting now. I'm just so glad my dad is finally coming around and leaving that BS org. My dubbie mom is always saying pray for your dad, he's "spiritually depressed/fading away"....I say for what, I'm happy he's finally waking up. I been praying he comes to his senses and you too one day....She got mad and hung up....

Is a Major Rift Developing between the GB and It's Bethel Lawyers??
by frankiespeakin ini would think sooner or later it is inevitable with all the stupid shit the governing body pulled over the last couple of years.
i can only imagine the angst many intelligent lawyers at bethel feel toward this braindead governing body of idiots.

Just a very wild idea that just popped in my head reading this thread,
Maybe, just maybe they are cutting the production of the Awake to just a month so they'll have more money to pay the lawyers since recently some of the cases that were usually just thrown out in court are now going to be tried.
I forgot where the thread was but imma go find it, another thought, how are they asking for new lawyers within the organization when they look down on ones that go to college in the first place? So I can ask another question are these JW lawyers spiritually weak in the first place, or were they once a part of the "world" and became a JW and can still use their lawyer skills to be a dubbie wolf in sheep clothing lawyer?
Just my 2 cents

IMHO its basically a case of they can't talk to you casually, but its ok to discuss BUSINESS issues. My mom tells me that all the time. When it comes to calling her up, hey mom how you doing can't talk to me, but when she needs me to pay a bill for her, she can call me and ask me to do that, its business.
i came back to add these little tidbits too,
My dub aunt had got a ticket once with the police dept I worked at for parking in a handicapped parking spot (for only a few minutes she says). Mind you this is the aunt that whenever we're all at my non-JW grandmother's house she never acknowledges me. But anyways she never picked up the phone to call me herself to ask me if I could help her get the ticket fixed, she had my non-dub uncle call me about it. First I was like, she couldn't even pick up the damn phone to ask me herself, but she wants my assistance. HELL NO!!! My uncle tried to get upset with me because he didn't understand the whole df'ing arrangement and thought i was dead wrong for not helping. I didn't even bother to try to explain, it was a waste of my breath. Long story short, she had to end up paying the ticket...
and maybe i could have helped but then i thought about this situation...
I was working at the time for the State Police as a dispatcher, anyways ran a plate and it came back to dubbies I knew "really well"(my used to be best friend when I was a dub). Well I called the trooper on PC(private call) and asked him what was up with them, speeding or something??? I forgot what the actual violation was but he ended up letting them go because I said " I know them, they're ok". they were on their way to an assembly that day and the husband had forgot his license at home (so i got them out of really hot water) but since trooper let them go they were able to arrive at the assembly on time and stuff. how do I know all this, well my ex-best friend found my mom at the assembly...and then told my mom about what had happened on their way to the assembly....she never told my mom to tell me thank you or anything....i guess i was back to being an evil df'd person again....i bet they chalked it up to Jehovah used me to tell the trooper i knew them so he would let them go....but a little while after this, i saw that same dubbie and do you think she even gave me a head nod or any recognition....pissed me off, and yeah i know they didnt ask for the help, but help was still given....
So basically it all boils down to, if they need something from you they feel free to ask, or get someone else to ask, but besides that you're the gum on the bottom of their shoe..

HOW WOULD A WITNESS ANSWER THIS?
by Mary ini thought of a question i'd like to ask my sister-in-law (who's a fanatical dub).
i'd like to say to her: "...if it could be proven to you beyond any doubt that this was not the "one true religion", would you still go to the kingdom hall?...
i figure it's a catch-22 that really ought to make them stop and think.
-
Sweetp0985
My dub mom and I had a similiar conversation. She was very irate and upset because I have been faithfully attending chuch. And I told her that JW's are not the "one true religion" Her response and I quote, "Even so, I still would not go running to some church"....So in other words, even if proven that dubs are not the one true religion I'm quite sure many of them feel just like my mom, where else can they go?? They've been brainwashed for so long that they can't function not doing dublike things.
It took me a while to finally break away too. And even if I wasn't going to church, deep down inside after knowing just half of the things I know now, I wouldn't keep going to the hall. I always felt uneasy about not speaking to someone after they were df'd. Didn't think it was right then and now that I am df'd myself, I still don't like it.
