i live here in Baton Rouge, and amongst all the negative and some good news stories they have shown on local news, I guess I missed this one. I'm sitting at work reading this and crying at the same time. This has been one of the toughest weeks of my life. Even though I didn't have to go through what the New Orleans people had to go through, I'm feeling it everyday, emotionally that is. I've tried to stay strong, but its getting better some days and hard some days. With me working in law enforcement, I have to hear alot even though I don't really want to. But thanks for sharing such an encouraging story.

Well I wasn't gonna comment on this thread, but after further consideration I will go ahead and do so.
After watching the 9/11 movie from Micheal Moore, I now think Bush is the Anti-Christ. He just looks evil to me now. I can't stand even watching him on TV anymore. I only learned about these recent statements he made via JWD. So I guess now he about to go into Iran to look for wmd's. I don't have any immediate family over there fighting in Iraq, but everytime they show on the news local heroes that have died for his oil theft, I just get sick to my stomach.
He needs to go over there and fight some. Be like the president was on Independence Day. Get his ass in one of those tanks or security checkpoints that keeps being victims of suicide bombers.
That's all I have to say and I hope I don't get bashed for my opinion.

At work listening to our student workers play some damn Mario game. And yes they are supposed to be working. But I'm not the boss to tell them differently.
And listening to 104.1 A Gospel channel...as I'm typing this Fred Hammond is on singing "You Are"....i guess that's the name of the song, or it may be called, "Daily Bread"...

Your thoughts about Wal-mart
by desbah in.
do you shop at wally world?
i can spend over $100.00 on little items, man shopping at wally world is the devil on my checkbook.
-

I love Walmart. My only thing is that whenever I go there for one thing, I always end up with a basketful of stuff.
And now we have the cute little Grocery store only Wal-marts...I think they're called like Marketplace or something. But I've seen quite a few stores close down because of Wal-Mart too. Albertson's here tried the name change thing and cheaper prices, but they're still holding in there. Winn Dixie on the other hand....they're closing quite a few here in La. I wonder if that's due to Wal-Mart. I'm willing to bet it does.

Robot
You are 57% Rational, 0% Extroverted, 28% Brutal, and 14% Arrogant. You are the Robot! You are characterized by your rationality. In fact, this is really ALL you are characterized by. Like a cold, heartless machine, you are so logical and unemotional that you scarcely seem human. For instance, you are very humble and don't bother thinking of your own interests, you are very gentle and lack emotion, and you are also very introverted and introspective. You may have noticed that these traits are just as applicable to your laptop as they are to a human being. In short, your personality defect is that you don't really HAVE a personality. You are one of those annoying, super-logical people that never gets upset or flustered. Unless, of course, you short circuit -

Do you ever weigh yourself before and after you use the toilet?

it can be very entertaining to see how much you, well, "lost".

My day at the assembly, er, convention
by Pistoff inwell, i could not avoid going today; a close friend got dunked and i had to go.. i was not even in my seat when i was already writing down egregious mind control bs: the first of the day and here it is:.
(verbatim) "obedience in the congregation to the elders is the same as obedience to jehovah personally".
my day got started with that puker.. ok, sit down and take more notes; not enough caffeine to take it straight.
-
Sweetp0985
And finally, the talk about obedience to the elders. The statement is again made outright, "the elders are appointed by Jehovah" even though when we really look we find the caveat that they are appointed by Jehovah "in that Jehovah and the holy spirit lay out the requirements for elders, and so they are appointed by HS."
I've always wondered about this...If the elders are chosen by HS and Jehovah already knows what we're gonna do waaaaaayyyyy before we do it...then why would the HS choose an elder that years down the line is gonna be df'd, da'd, or other un-elderly things that other elders don't find out about until it too late. So did the HS not see it or something....or is it a bunch of crapola?
