I just finished Crisis of Conscience...

thanks to ray franz for writing it.

parts of the book have been talked about on the board before, but holy $#!+...seeing page upon page of evidence kept my jaw in a constant drop.... a few thoughts.... >franz seems to have little malice for the org, and it shows in the book.. >i looked at it with a very skeptical eye (as i do everything) and tried to see it from the perspective of a witness who sincerely believed.

i was still floored by the callousness of the comments of these people.. > control really does seem to be the watchword for these folks, and they've trained the rank and file well.

I just finished reading it recently too. I've yet to get my mind set on reading ISOCF tho'. But I was a skeptic also before reading and like a few already mentioned I got pissed at the double standards of Mexico and Malawi. Also how they make judgements on matters that will affect a person's life...by a stupid ass vote...no bible usage at all. I had to grab the JW proclaimers book I had borrowed from my mom (for research purposes only) and look at picture they had of the GB. I just wanted to see what type of men could be so heartless and stupid.....They know more and more people are reading this book and finding out more info on them on the internet (like I did, but I was already df'd, and was trying to find all the reasons not to go back to the borg) and they are getting scared.

IMHO thats why i think the increase of all the beware of the internet and beware of strangers bit. They know they are losing their grip because all the lies and things done in the dark are coming to light.

I know there is no use in kicking a dead horse, but I'm still curious as to why they needed to join the UN. That was some double isht for ya azz.....You can't join the YMCA but we can join the UN. Oh my bad, be a part of the UN just to use the library.....I bet any ordinary dub would get pulled in the back room at the speed of lightening if they came with some isht about they went to a church to use the library to do research on how churches are part of babylon the great.....

I'm sorry, I'm ranting...i always get carried away...sorry

How Many Hours Do You Work?

just curious.. todays "times" says that americans do most things one hour before the brits do.. americans, it says, start work at 8am, brits rarely before 9 am.

american lunch is at 12 noon, the uk is 1pm.

american dinner is at 6pm, uk eats around 7.. but how many hours do you need to actually work?.

I think an easier question for me would be, how many hours do I sleep?

Ok here goes.

16 hours a week at school

10 hours a week at work study program-working in the library

39 hours 1st week of student employment

40 hours 2nd week of student employment- so that I won't have the full time hours of 80 hrs for 2 weeks

School should be consided a part of work too....so for 65 hours (1st week) I'm working and for 66 hours the next week I'm working.......So I get to squeeze in a few hours of sleep in there somewhere too....

What did Noah eat after the flood?

as the world was presumbly ruined after the flood,nothing was grown etc etc,what did noah eat.. if he have started eating the animals,they would have been none around,so what did noah and co eat to avoid hunger?

They also must have had some llllooooonnnnggg ass fishing poles too because from the pic in my old bible story book the windows were way up high on the ~~floating logs~~ ark. and they couldn't open the door..only Jehovah could open that..so how could they fish...unless....shoot there is no unless...lol

Wasn't he in the ark for only 40days and nights? No, it rained for 40 days and nights, but it took a year for the waters to subside. (Gen 7:11, 8:14) Was this 40 regular days or 40 days Jehovah time????

They hired a JW at my job

a new girl was hired at my job, and within 4 days it came out that she was a jehovah's witness.

amazing how you could go years without knowing another coworker's religion, but we all had to know about this girl within 4 days.

they had an assembly this weekend, and of course, we all knew exactly why she was taking the day off.

From my own personal experience, don't let on too quick that you're df'd...I didn't even make the mistake of doing this...My loving dub mom took care of it for me...As I have mentioned on many threads, even tho I'm a member of a Baptist church, and been df'd for over 7 yrs in my mom's mind I'm still a "on punishment" dub...NOT!!! But anyway, I had just started this job and I knew the girl as being a dub but she for some reason didn't recognize or rather remember me. So I was there for like 5 or 6 months and everyday she would come in and speak to me, hold conversations, etc. just like with all the other people. One day my mom came to my job (selling Avon) which almost got me in trouble, but her and the girl got to talking and WOW they are both dubs...Whoopee! But leave it to my mom to not leave well enough alone and put my business all out...She told the girl I was df'd and like I knew would happen...She stopped talking to me...Now mind you for the 5-6 months before this she was coming to my desk talking about books she was reading (if any of you know about books by ZANE, these are some freaky ass books) and yes she was telling me all about how she was reading them and they were so funny...The whole time I'm like hmmmm and you're supposed to be a dub huh? But I just looked at it like I always do and said to each his own....But after she found I was df'd she couldnt talk to me no more because I was the bad one...c'mon now..THis is the only thing about the dubs that pisses me off the most..I'm not sorry at all that I'm no longer one, but the ardasity (sp) of them to look down on me when most of them do the same or even worse things than me and they look down on me...

i cant bring myself to get into voting.

i am registered, but when its time to vote, i just really never fell the urge to get there and get it done.

my husband is very political, and is always talking politics and about the importance of voting.

I just registered also for the first time last year at 26 yrs old. the closer it gets to election time, the more I'm feeling like Do I or Don't I? Then all the commericals just makes it even more frustrating....I guess this is just one of the freedoms that not being a dub anymore makes me able to do but I'm just not too excited about this one...

why do animals die?

if man dies because of inherited sin (as pretty much all bible based religions believe), why do animals die?.

if sin is "falling short of god's will" and sin results in death, how have animals "fallen short" thus deserving death?

if there was a dog messiah, would animals be redeemed as well?

They die because they weren't baptized as a Jehovah's Witness...so they can't go door to door and tell about the goodness of Jehovah...so they die..along with all the other millions of people that die...

Do all snakes go to hell because they were cursed???Are there even any animals in hell or heaven for that matter???/

Power Outages at the KH

i remember all the kids would silently cheer when the lights went out and hope they stayed out.

I would get ecstatic when the weather would get toooo bad for anyone to be one the road...Bad thunderstorms, etc. and they would cancel the meeting....Or one time the air went out and they deemed it too hot to have the meeting.....Next day in field service, some of the holier-than-thou sisters were complaining talking about why cancel the meeting because of no air...our brothers and sisters in Africa with no electricity do all they can to have a meeting with no air at all...Even at that tender age I truly wanted to say *itch shut the F*** up!!!!!

i've read the bible and i don't recall satan himself actually ever doing anything evil or harmful... however i read many accounts where god killed or tormented countless thousands of people for arbitrary reasons.. aside from prophecies where jehover says that satan will hurt people in the future (hasn't happened yet, and no sign that it will happen), can anyone cite an example in the bible where satan actually harmed anyone?.

Whew..silly me...I actually read ALL 7 pages...I guess I was intrigued......Anyway..my little thoughts on the matter is first of all...

1. If God is all knowing, why was he walking through the Garden calling for A & E if he knew where they were already? Just a thought.

2. Also if God is all knowing, (similiar to the thoughts about breeding the rabbits), why did he continue to let A & E breed? Because to my knowledge (I may be wrong) I have never read anywhere except for school books about dinosaurs and Cavemen, but it has been proven that they did exist. So if cavemen and dinosaurs came AFTER the first man and woman, why are they not mentioned in the Bible? If they came BEFORE A & E as some textbooks show( many more years ago than 6000) what happened to them? (Damn I'm confusing myself as I type this..its in my head but getting it out is the crucial part).....anyways what I'm saying is in the textbooks I always seen cavemen were always pictured as very non-intelligent in alot of ways. So maybe God wasn't too happy with humans, how they turned out looking and wiped them out along with the dinosaurs and started again with A & E...SO how are we to know (as someone else had mentioned) that we're not the 3rd, 4th, or maybe even 12th try...All i know is whenever people did something against Jehovah that was mentioned in the bible they were immediately punished in some way...The flood, Sodom and Gomarrah, Pharoah and his army...seems like to me any human that ever got in his way are messed up the plans was dealt with....Why doesn't he just deal with Satan the same way?

3. Not picking on the book because I am still reading it and enjoying the overall message...but in A Purpose Driven Life...the book mentions that God knows about us before we are even conceived as to how our whole entire life is going to turn out due to him having a purpose for each and every life....so with that said...all the murderers, rapists, molesters...are they fulfilling their purpose? If he knows they are going to stray from his purpose why let them even come to be...Just to screw up someone else's ~~purpose~~life?

I have many more points but my brain has went into overload now..
