I was in one congregation where a brother and sister were dealing drugs out of the restrooms...............
WTF???
we used to have this guy that came to bookstudy drunk and he would mumble all through it, and fall asleep and wake up yelling an answer.
i never went to meeting drunk, but i certainly drank a few to get me through sometimes, took the edge off the continual damnation spewing from the stage.
another "sister" used put kahlua in her coffee cup in service.
I was in one congregation where a brother and sister were dealing drugs out of the restrooms...............
WTF???
who go door to door asking for donations when they place their literature?
guess none of them want to pay caesar's things to caesar.
i hope this is ok to post this news article.
its an insurance/news letter that i purchased online.
i am thinking of distributing to local hospital human resource departments to inform them of their need to ask questions when hiring people with religious views that may affect their work.
from personal experience i feel you should distribute...
i had a procedure done once that nooo oneee knew about except people in the dr's office. One of the nurses/helpers was not a JW but her mom was and I also knew the girl but at this point in time i wasn't thinking about "oh hell she knows me". But I have no doubt that she probably told her mom about me getting the procedure, and mom probably went to the elders...but i was pretty much "out" at that time anyway...when time came for JC meeting my dr's visit was never brought up among all the questions but i feel they probably knew. edited to add...i didn't try to sue either..i didn't have proof she told anything...but i had that feeling...a strong feeling...
on another note...in my line of work i have access to confidential information on people. But never have I used this info to rat out anyone. BUUUTTT recently a prostitution sting in my area netted a JW- MS. It was on the local news and the newscaster said the names of all those arrested is on our website...I looked at the names and saw that one was a person a knew...this was not secret info but was able to be accessed by anyone...I told my mom about the person and she told my uncle that is a elder....The message given to me was beware of giving info like this because of my job....My job had nothing to do with this..anyone with a computer could have looked it up...my thoughts is that one of their own had been caught trying to pick up a prostitute and like always they wanted to sweep it under the rug...i haven't heard anything else about the matter cuz if they did investigate it any it does take a few weeks..but if he denies its him..what can i do...so many people have the same name and i guess he can lie about his date of birth...but they are such FBI/CIA agents when they want to be...i bet this goes no where...
i have to tell a funny gambling story.
i love to gamble, but have slowed and stopped recently because it has hurt me.
but here is the story.
i think i know someone that got their baptism annulled....but i guess she went over all her 200 questions or whatever and the brothers never told her if she was "approved" or not for baptism...but at the assembly she was baptized anyway....but later it was going around the congo that it didnt count because the brothers didnt tell her she was approved...
i dont think she redid the baptism tho...i mean for the first time she had family come from out of state and everything to see her get dunked..
...the phone rings.
the witness answers it and someone is on the other end, but they are speaking in french.
luckily the witness speaks french.
i've always posted my unbelievable stories and read others....but has anyone ever heard this one about the brother testing his fiancee's faith in Jehovah??
bro doe and sis doette go on a picnic after field service. bro doe tells sis doette that he really doesn't want to be a JW anymore. So he goes and gets his bookbag out of the car and flings it TOWARDS the pond nearby. (it landed on the bank)...so sis doette is shocked at first but then goes to the car and gets her bookbag and flings it in the pond. (it goes into the water)..she's all happy and smiling thinking no more meetings, etc. bro doe then looks at her and goes to pick up his bookbag and tells her, i was just testing to see if you really loved Jehovah. you threw your bag so hard it went all the way in the water...we are no longer engaged...
i say lucky sis doette
i've been recording gospel music for my mother.
she has always loved gospel music, and since she's in the hospital i wanted her to have access to it.
so, i bought her a cd player and i've been downloading gospel music for her.
thats all i listen to...i will recommend a couple of artists that really pick me up..some have already been listed..
Yolanda Adams, Martha Munizzi, Donnie McClurkin, Any of the Winans (CeCe, Vickie, BeBe), Virtue, Trin-i-tee, Tye Tribbet (has alot of danceable songs more geared towards younger ones/teens), a whole lot more people but thats all coming to mind right now.
There's this one song by Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir called "He's God"..whenever I hear that song I start crying..the lady's voice thats singing just does something each and every time. Then the church I attend a girl in the choir sounds different from the BTC but she makes me cry too....
its alot more out there....we have a couple of gospel radio channels that I listen to all the time so alot of songs I love I don't really know who sings them..
.
i think that when you are in a cult like the dubs, things stick with you whether you want them to or not.
i still pray before meals and bedtime...anybody else?
I still stay away from spirit/demon possesion type movies...mostly cuz I'm a big scaredy cat but dub thinking creeps in most of the time about "inviting them into your house" by watching such movies.
I easily adapted all the "worldly" stuff, saying bless you, happy holidays/x-mas, etc, celebrating all the holidays except halloween...i usually buy me a white chocolate
I try not to use profanity as much but driving in La after the huge increase of vehicles in my town is horrible..thats when i usually turn into a sailorette.
my elderly dub aunt (who's the biggest whiner the world has ever seen) came over tonight to first of all, whine about how her neighbour shuts her kitchen cupboard doors in the most annoying way possible and her dog barks and what was she supposed to do about it?
anyway, as soon as these monumental problems were solved, she informed me that at the bookstudy the other night, the conductor told everyone to "stay after the prayer" as he had 'something important to announce.
" naturally everyone did this, all the while wondering if the red phone at patterson was in direct contact with jehovah himself as the study was being conducted.
i think they're just gonna lay some new rules on em'..hence the 2 articles being studied last sunday and this sunday coming about the murmuring and seeing the "good" in the organization..
Two times I've heard that Jehovah is "using every possible method he can to bring in all his stray sheep"
i thought it could have been something along those lines too because all of sudden my 2 uncles that are elders told my mom to let me know they're both available to me to answer any questions I may have..I've been out for almost 8 yrs and they're just now available????? WTH??

NYC officials want new 'Survivor' pulled
By SARA KUGLER, Associated Press Writer Thu Aug 24, 9:54 PM ET
As CBS prepares to launch a new season of the hit reality show "Survivor," this time featuring teams divided by race, enraged city officials are saying it promotes divisiveness and are calling for the network to reconsider.
"The idea of having a battle of the races is preposterous," City Councilman John Liu said Thursday. "How could anybody be so desperate for ratings?"
For the first portion of the 13th season of "Survivor," which premieres Sept. 14, the contestants competing for the $1 million prize while stranded on the Cook Islands in the South Pacific will be divided into four teams — blacks, Asians, Latinos and whites.
Liu, who is Asian-American, said he was launching a campaign urging CBS to pull the show because it could encourage racial division and promote negative typecasts. He and a coalition of officials, including the council's black, Latino and Asian caucus, planned to rally at City Hall on Friday.
In a statement, CBS Entertainment, which is part of New York-based CBS Corp., defended the ethnic twist, saying it follows the show's tradition of introducing new creative elements and casting structures that reflect cultural and social issues.
"CBS fully recognizes the controversial nature of this format but has full confidence in the producers and their ability to produce the program in a responsible manner," the statement said. "'Survivor' is a program that is no stranger to controversy and has always answered its critics on the screen."
Last season, the show divided contestants into groups of older men, younger men, older women and younger women.
The show's host, Jeff Probst, said the network was aware this season's race ploy might offend viewers.
"It's very risky because you're bringing up a topic that is a hot button," he told asap, The Associated Press service for younger readers. "There's a history of segregation you can't ignore. It is part of our history.
"For that, it's much safer to say, 'No, let's just stick with things the way they are. Let's don't be the network to rock the boat. Let's not have "Survivor" try something new,'" he said. "But the biases from home can't affect you. This is an equal opportunity game."
