Are you angry for having been a JW?
by Half banana ini remember seeing the ex-jws parading around outside the assembly like lepers holding placards of hate.
we were the righteous and enlightened ones... and they were lost in outer darkness.
just dont look at them was the standard response to their unwelcome presence..

Yes I'm angry. When I think about how different my life could be right now if certain paths were not taken because of the religion. How much of my fight with anxiety/depression is a direct result of the religion. Yes i'm angry but going protest is not something i would do. I've been working on "letting it go" but sometimes its just hard to. -

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do
by minimus inwitnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.
everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

What does your baptism mean to you now?
by GiftsinMen ini was baptised on 1st sept 1990, 25years ago today.
it is still a date with deep meaning for me.
i never dedicated my life to serving any man or any organisation, this was my choice - as a grown adult - to serve my god through jesus christ.

My baptism to me now is just one of the worst mistakes I ever made. But I don't even remember the date I took the dip or how old I was. I just remember my step-mom fussing at me that morning for something probably petty and that I was in a bad mood all morning even tho that was supposed to be a "joyous" occasion.

New songs at meetings
by Saltheart Foamfollower intoday at the wt study one of the new songs was used.
how has this been going in other congs - at my hall about two thirds had it on either tablets or phones with lyrics on or printed out, rest just stood looking blank.

What they need to do is go listen to some gospel music and add some beat or more upbeat tunes or something.since they are already adopting some of the "worldly" religions stuff. Still the same ole same ole put you to sleep songs. A few of the old songs at least had a lil upswing to it but they dumbed those down too. One of which was sung at the last convention and i was like oh good i remember this song then boom the lyrics had been changed to something crazy...Ha! -

Yep, I know someone that gets SSI disability/food stamp, won't try to find a job at all but will faithfully be at the KH to pioneer. But when I bring up the scripture that says if you don't work you don't eat, she says she's working for Jehovah and he will provide for her..... -

Canadian branch getting rid of their trucks and drivers
by wannaexit ina recent letter to the elders outlined the new arrangement for delivering literature to the congregations.
the canadian branch will be downsizing by eliminating drivers and trucks and utilizing commercial carriers to bring the boxes of monthly literature .
more outsourcing and more lay offs.. the funny thing about it is that they want to have the literature delivered to various private homes of the rank and file rather than have the literature delivered to the kingdom hall.

I have to agree with Incognito about them going to be sending less literature. Isn't there another thread saying they sent out a letter to elders asking them to limit their orders because there was too much waste of magazines, etc. And also they're probably going to be doing a lot less printing and more on internet. -

Remember the two elderly sisters?
by John Aquila inabout a month ago i posted what had happened to two elderly sisters who were reprimanded by a couple of elders for crying because the jw broadcasting was going to be stopped at the kingdom hall and it was up to each publisher to learn how to use the internet.
if you recall the sisters got together with my mom and talked about it and it resulted in all of them declining to make meals for the pioneers.
here is the link.
