LOL...I thought that this was about a racing bicycle when I read the title. I guess I am just anxious for some outdoor time on my bicycle...right now the weather here means using the trainer in my garage. Nice ride, though, Beans.

Let's hope more JW's will seek higher education and other sources of information rather than just going along with the FDS/WTS-approved ignorance.

Kingdom Halls for Sale
by Banshee inin the past year, i have noticed that two kingdom halls in my area are closed and for sale and i haven't heard from any of the locals (i am in a rural area) about the jws here building any new ones to meet in.
i was wondering, is this an increasing trend throughout the us or just a local phenonenon?
dare we hope that the dubs will go out of business in other regions?.

Special K-- I have wondered myself if maybe they are consolidating congregations into a central location but, like I stated before, none of the locals seem to know anything about a JW Kingdom Hall building plan in the works, so far. However, you may be correct and word just hasn't gotten out yet.
cyber-sista-- Interesting idea. That would certainly explain a lot, wouldn't it? I don't know enough about the tax laws to know whether or not this would be a viable scheme for the Society to implement.

"inapropriate attire" (usually meaning anything stylish and up-to-date)
"independent thinking" (referred to as a negative thing, which means you must become brain dead and passively follow/believe everything handed down from WTS, no matter how patently false or ridiculous)
"honest-hearted ones" (Anyone who blindly accepts and follows WTS teachings, dogma and rules...even when I was an active JW, this phrase really bugged me.)
"exemplary" (Oh, how I came to loathe this word!)

I've celebrated Christmas for several years, now, but I was always in warm weather climates. This is my first White Christmas and I am as excited as a little kid about it. As I gaze out the window, I see that our neighborhood has been transformed into a glorious, winter wonderland. I sure do love Christmas!
