Hello everyone, first post.
by Frjprice inhello, i just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here - as i will be posting here.. i grew up a jw and pioneered, was a ministerial servant, ect, i was in the organization for 17 years.
i left and naturally my family did as they were told and cut off all communication with me.
this left a horrible taste in my mouth for not just jw's, but any religion for that matter.

Men exclusively are ordained as priests. Women may serve in church positions that do not require priestly ordination. in a nutshell: he needs a blood transfusion as his hemoglobin is dropping (bleeding internally), but thanks to this fucking cult, that's not an option...........he'll accept the fractions but those bastards from the blood liaison committee have already shown up to ensure he doesn't cave............... for those of you who still believe, i'm asking you to say a prayer for my dad........and if anyone from crooklyn is reading this: you better hope my father doesn't die due to your fucked up rules, .

Cain and Abel - where did they get the idea of a burnt offering?
by truthseeker init has always puzzled me why abel, a herder of sheep, would want to kill his own animals to offer them up to god.. prior to the flood, it would be fair to say that no one ate meat.
maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but assuming that meat.
was not eaten, why would abel's offering be better than cain's offering?.

another topic here made me think of the mormons who are counseled to have a years worth of food on hand in the event of an emergency.
food, water, money and gas are all things suggested to save.

Adam's family was killing animals all along, and using everything and anything from them to survive.
Killing animals wouldn't have been anything new to them, God showed them how to kill animals for clothing.My thinking : Cain and Abel know God is up in the sky, mom and dad pissed him off, how to please him?
We will show God that we are not like mom and dad.
We will use this new thing we discovered called fire it gives off stuff that reaches right up to
the sky where God lives.We will burn our most valuable possesions
and send the smoke to him then he will know we are willing to sacrifice our best to him.why would Abel's offering be better than Cain's offering?
No one gets upset when a cornfield is harvested,
but let a dog fall into a hole and the fire company comes.I think God had issues with cain before these sacrifices took place.
God knew Cain and Abel well He read their hearts and had been observing them for some time.This was just an opportune time to bring those issues up.
