The Prince conundrum
by ElderEtta in2 questions remain in the passing of brother prince:.
will an autopsy, that won't be made available for several weeks, reveal that he died of a drug overdose?.
did prince bequeath a large sum of money to watchtower corporation upon his passing?.

it was probably and accidental overdose. He was very thin and in pain. He wasn't very big person, 5'2" and was thin. This subject has be discussed on several other threads. check it out.
If he left the money to the wts, who would turn it down? Not them.

I just posted on other thread, news from the rumor mill in music business
Prince had Aids that he contracted in the 90's and was on meds but due to jws influence ( new system) he stopped taking his meds. He also needed hip replacement which would require bloodless surgery and was in a lot of pain.

Very Weird Experience During Recent Special Talk After Memorial
by Tenacious inhesitantly i attended this talk with my family and sat through it without batting an eye.. mentally i take myself out during the entire meeting some would describe this as daydreaming or zoning out.
whatever the case may be, for some reason this particular speaker, whom i know of but not personally, got my attention the way he would say certain phrases.
he cited some texts that directly advised the audience that faith in christ was the only way to salvation.

the old hippie has been posting here I think since the board began, but at least since 02 when I arrived. They always make " hit posts" like you saw and seldom will come back for discussion. -

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

When I stopped attending I did more than rip my card apart. I went to 2 local hospitals that I might be taken to ( or where I had been before) and made sure they deleted it out of their computer system. In one case I had to check 2 different times to make sure I was not associated with any bloodless programs . Anytime I have to check in for any procedure I make sure I tell them my status now. It could save my life one day. -

Adultery before becoming a JW???
by James Mixon ina young couple we were very close to, we both got baptized at the same assembly.. i knew the young man well, we went through grade school and high school together.. he served in the military also, he married before shipping out to viet nam.. i had heard of rumors about his wife while he was overseas.
this guy was a virgin when he got.
married, raised in a strict religious family.. two years of marriage they were baptized as jw.

It does not matter if they were jws are not. If he did not know about the adultery he has every right to make a decision about whether to continue the marriage or not. He can choose to forgive or divorce. That is his right. The elders should not have told him what they did b/c they are wrong. -

Good idea or bad idea?
by stephanie61092 infirst and foremost, thank you so much to so many of you who have reached out to me over the past few days since my post on sunday.
i'm not totally in the best mental state, however, i do have a very small amount of people that i can lean on for support.
i relayed my feelings to a friend (my only friend, really), who took the initiative to inform my family.

I agree, don't give up on therapy. It took about 2 years for therapist to break through the wall I had put up to protect the WTS. Therapy was my saving grace. -

I have too much crap!! How to declutter/dehoard.....
by Muddy Waters insome areas of our home are very nice, tidy, clean.
and other rooms are just junk and clutter and clothes and papers.... omg.
and now that we are getting older, we realize that we face a time of transition -- and this is hard to cope with too, as we believed the lie that we would never get old, etc.

I have this issue too. I finally decided that I just am not dealing well with not having kids to take care of, big meals to cook and I still believe I might be able to wear that really cute outfit I wore 20-25 yrs ago. Frequently when I do get to the point I can discarde something, I worry I could have used it and sometimes that is true--I threw out something I shouldn't have. I am not a bad hoarder like you see on TV, no nasty house or bugs etc but I have shoes and clothes from 25 yrs ago that I just can't get rid of. They are piled on beds and 2 rooms in my house are almost unusable b/c of clutter. Our bedroom has about 6 boxes of clothes on the floor , top or dressers and in closets right now. We can still use it however. Also, I noted something else I am doing. When I do get the ability to throw out-- I'll be darn If I don't go buy more to replace ii.
I read recently that one way to De- clutter is by asking yourself " Does this item make me feel cherished ? I know that sounds hippy dippy but it sort of resounds with me. I started looking at piles of clothes and I think it might work. I intend to give that method a try.
Selling things on ebay or amazon requires I mail them out and dealing with a buyer. I would almost rather put a "free" sign on them in the yard.
saw this topic and just needed to vent
