it's official, i am on vacation for 2 weeks!
i have a trip planned, i am going to roswell new mexico.
i am so excited and scared at the same time.
Gas prices here haven't been that bad. I think the highest it got here this summer was $3.82. It got down to $3.32 yesterday. But I totally agree about the gas prices. And I am flying since I don't drive. And it was actually cheaper to fly than take the Greyhound bus. I got a round trip ticket for around $240.00. I didn't think that was to bad. I will have a blast and I will be carefull.

It's official, I am on VACATION for 2 weeks! I have a trip planned, I am going to Roswell New Mexico. I am so excited and scared at the same time. This will be the first time I have been on a plane in 22 years. I have a layover in Chicago for 2 hours so I won't be able to do anything there. Then on the way home I have a 2 hour layover in Dallas. I will wave hi to everyone in Dallas while I'm there. I leave out on Thursday and come back on the 26th.

guess i'll be the first one to do an (inevitable) thread about 9-11. hard to believe it's been 7 years already.
i was at work when one of my co-workers came up and told me that a plane had hit the world trade center.
i thought it was awful, but i figured it was a small single engine plane that maybe lost its way in the fog.
I was trying to sleep to be honest. Dave was down stairs yelling at me to get up that we were going to go towards World War 3 that the towers and the pentagon had been hit. All I could say was "really" like I didn't beleive him. I had only worked about 19 hours the day before and knew I had another day like that one waiting for me. So I wanted to sleep. But only 2 weeks earlier we had just changed our vacation plans. We had planned on going to NYC that same week. But I kept getting a bad feeling that something was going to happen. So we changed our minds and waited to go in October to go to Colorado to visit my cousin. When I finally realized what had happened I was stunned and very numb.

my favorite time of year is fall.
(in the southern hemisphere it's just turning to spring).
the angle of the sunlight, the turning of the leaves...so many subtle things, love it.
I have always loved the fall colors. the changing of the leaves, the harvest of the corn, and don't forget the pumpkins, But then again my favorite holiday as a child was always Halloween. I loved all the candy! That also meant that Christmas was just around the corner.

I travel for pleasure when I can afford too. I fly out next week to go see a friend in Roswell New Mexico. This will be my 1st vacation in about 3 years. The last vacation I went on was going to Penn for the Witness' Now for Jesus Conference.

today (29th august 2008) at 5.22pm baby meadow arrived weighing 6lb 7oz; she was born at home in a birthing pool without any medical interventions other than gas and air; both mother and baby are well (although dawn is well and truly exhausted from a 12 hour birthing).
i am immensely proud of them both.
today my world was made complete!.

was in walmart a couple of weeks ago helping my daughter do some shopping for college supplies.
my daughter is very outgoing and outspoken.
it's going to be her first year of college.
Actually, I do intend to spend the next 20 to 30 years at Wal-Mart. They have great benefits for their employees. I am honored to work there. How many companies do you know that share profits with all of their associates. And not just Managers. After 20 years you get 4 weeks of vacation plus and extra weeks pay. They automatically put in money into your 401k even if you don't put any of yourown money. yeah it can be a little crazy but that is any job.
